Smooth move on Sony's part, since the Joker character is the most wanted one. Or at least the most wanted one after Batman himself. It comes down to personal preference I suppose.

It's not a smooth move, it's a riddiculous joke that's part of the modern video game industry. I just can't take this whole timed exclusive, dlc exclusive, pseudo exclusive stuff seriously. As written in the first post, "the only ones loosing here are the gamers."

Thats business.

Why should Sony care about people who favour the competition? Why shouldnt Sony try get the best stuff for their fanbase?

Its stuff like this what get people to jump ship and/or buy a PS3.

If "business" means "do anything you want as long as it brings you more money", than yeah, that's business. That would be the capitalism of the 19th century. But 200 years later and with the cold war already being over, people should finally understand that it's not just the will of the industry bosses that should count, but also the interests of the people. Sorry if I deviated too much from the subject, and I'm looking forward to beeing yelled "communist" at by some ultra conservatives ;)

What rubbish. Why oh why do game companies do things like these? Bring back solid state/no internet so this exclusive content/DLC possibly one day/patches junk goes away.

While I agree with your sentiment, it wouldn't eliminate exclusive content.  It would simply get them to ship, say, the PS3 version with more content on the disc/cartridge/SD card or whatever the game is on.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Tag, courtesy of fkusumot: "Why do most of the PS3 fanboys have avatars that looks totally pissed?"
"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

I want the Joker

I also want the Xbox version

I laugh at your suffering. :P

OT: Meh... I don't expect major sales for either versioin.

4 ≈ One

It really isn't fair to do this. I hate when it happens to the PS3, and now I hate that it happened to the 360. A multiplat game should offer the same content for everyone.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

I think the game will sell well but does Sony think it will sell more on ps3 because of Joker dlc.

Well, I know that I'm personally considering the PS3 version because of that, especially since that content is downloadable for free, but I don't see it having a huge effect on its own merits.

See, what I can see happening is the ads for this game saying "Batman, Arkham Asylum... Play as The Joker... exclusively on Playstation 3."  That way they wouldn't technicallly be 'lying' but they would intentionally imply the game is PS3-exclusive.

Guess u have a point, we´ll have to wait and see how well it does when it releases.

I don't see the naysayers in this thread screaming so loud, or at all, when it's Microsoft doing the same thing.

Sony paid for exclusive Batman DLC, Microsoft paid for GTA DLC. It evens out.

its free DLC.

Because when Microsoft did it they didn't do it to any games I cared about

@dsister44

You have PS3 games in your collection, so you must have a PS3. Want the Joker? Buy the game for that console. Simple, really.
