Gearbox will be making Halo 4. Halo Reach could hit 10 million LTD. ODST will ship 5-8 million for sure.

*cough* http://www.thatvideogameblog.com/2009/07/30/gearbox-not-working-on-halo-4/
Halo ODST 10 Million lifetime
Halo Reach 15+ Million lifetime.
Don't under estimate the power of "Bungie developed" Halo games.

Honey.... Thats just speculation dearest. Until we see some confirmation we may as well assume its overtracked until proved otherwise as thats the most conservative and leads to less disapointment. |
How about we say its overtracked when it hits 10million on this website and Microsoft mention nothing of it in a month's time.

One offshoot, Halo Wars, and one spinoff, ODST, in 8 years is not milking. I think 40 million at least. |
I said the milking is begnining. Halo Wars is now out, Halo Reach has been announced, Halo Legends the Anime Series, the canceled Halo MMO, etc. They have strayed away from making the main Halo series games with MC every so often in order to make spin offs or merchandise. When you release so much of a brand name (Such as Guitar Hero) it becomes almost over saturated thus making the brand name less special. If we only saw a Halo game say, every 3-4 years than I would say otherwise.

I'm a huge Halo fan but the it is a Halo game without MC, the Halo name is starting to get milked making it less special and the main multiplayer shooter on the 360 is going to be MW2 so I think ODST will reach 3 million tops. I don't know I'm probably just on crack. |
Call of Duty 5 is a call of duty made by Treyarch and its not modern warfare. It sold really well too.
Call of Duty: WaW sold well because it was riding off the coat rails of Modern Warfare 1. CoD4 revived the CoD series and sky rocketed it into a mainstream AAA title instead of a dying WW2 shooter.

But you see, Call of Duty wasn't a dying series. Also Halo 3 was the biggest shooter release on the Xbox 360, bigger even than Call of Duty 4. So if Call of Duty 5 can do it without modern warfare and the original developers then Halo ODST can do it without the master chief and with the original developers.
Tease.

Sure it was a dying series. Look at the sales of the CoD franchise prior to CoD4 and then look after. CoD5 got majorly boosted by CoD4 sucess and most main stream people don't know that there are different developers. However, most people do know that MC is not in ODST.
ODST will sell well because it is a quality shooter on the 360 and it has the Halo name, but it wont be anything like what we saw with Halo 3. That is how I feel anyway. We will have to wait and see when the games come out.
How can you call sales of 2.4M, 2.3M for COD 2/3 a dying series? Most games don't even sell half that.
If say Halo ODST sells 5M it won't be 'anywhere near' the 10M of Halo 3 but it will be massive in its own right. However there hasn't been a Halo shooter for two years now and with the $15 multiplayer maps for up to date players + a new campaign and online mode... as well as all the maps for people who aren't online or haven't bought them yet...
To say it will sell 3M is pretty silly, it'll probably do that in the first month.
Tease.
