Forums - Sony - What would make you guys play Home?

well, i personally like the 360 Avatars better, the Realistic look on the PS Avatars are boring, they just look, not fun...
the lack of animations is also a big turn off.

You don't 'Play' Home, you 'go on it'
- And I think thats the main problem with it.

Pretty much nothing. Though if I ever get the urge to go hang out with a bunch of dudes who like hitting on other dudes masquerading as girls I'll go play home.

I have only played around with Home on my brother's PS3, but the biggest problems with it were the issues that were predicted from the time it was announced ... Home is a graphically impressive chat program that most people's friends don't have access to and is not a particularly enjoyable way to meet up with people anyways. I forget who said it, but I remember hearing someone say that Home was like a videogame designed by marketing drones.

Home would have (potentially) been a far more enjoyable and meaningful experience had Sony tried to take games like Animal Crossing or Harvest Moon and convert them into a massively multiplayer experience. Having a game based on the concept of people logging on for 10 to 15 minutes to complete some fun "Chores" to build status and create their own little section of the world would have been a far more meaningful experience to most people than home has become.

There is no reason for me to get on it, it's not my cup of tea.
Unless they add some kind of promotional stuff and giveaways to betas or free PSN games then I might be interested. Even then, I use the PS3 to play games among other things, not as a social networking site.

No load screens and for it to have "a point". I am beginning to think Sony regret this...

What led you to believe that? Just a few weeks ago they released numbers showing millions of dollars being spent in Home.

Nothing. I know lot better ways of spending time than overglorified chat service.

I might play home if it were a game and not ps3's version of second life
