Alright the question is, is Sega Nintendo's biggest hardcore supporter? Now of course what determines hardcore is pretty hard to tell. Some could argue that UbiSoft is Nintendo's biggest third party supporter. But Sega themselves have provided us with countless exclusives and two of them are always refered to as Nintendo's hardcore titles. Even in an interview I read recently the interviewer asked a Nintendo Rep why hardcore games like MadWorld and The Conduit aren't selling. So with games bombing why is Sega catering the hardcore? Don't believe me?

MadWorld was really hyped at E3 2008 and gamers across the globe anticipated its gory goodness. However upon release MadWorld underperformed selling only a couple thousand units. Sega however was not discouraged and while rampant price cuts have occured it is still on every good game stores shelves. Hardcore gamers claimed to be satisfied and the visuals were like no other. MadWorld pioneered adult gaming on the Wii and Sega is the company that took that first step and chance to bring a truly adult experiance to the Wii.

Just like MadWorld High Voltages The Conduit innovated and expanded on existing experiances on the Wii. The Conduit was the first exclusive shooter to feature a solid online gaming experiance. Sega pioneered the FPS genre with The Conduit, yet week one sales under performed falling short of the 200k that many including myself expected.
The Grinder looks like it will be published by Sega as well, yet again bringing us a unique online experiance that will blow gamers away. Four player co-op online on a Nintendo console has never been done before and will yet again push the Wii's hardware to its limits!

Monkey Ball is another hardcore franchise that was built up on the GameCube, PS2 and even saw release on the X-Box. But this generation Monkey Ball to my knowledge is exclusively found only on Wii. With Banana Blitz already on the market having pushed the WiiMote hardware to its limits, we are now going to see Super Monkey Ball Step & Roll using the Wii Balance Board to yet again give us a fresh gaming experiance and further the Monkey Ball brand.

The next evident part that makes Sega a hardcore if not the biggest hardcore company on the Wii. Sonic the HedgeHog long Sega's mascot and the second biggest name in platforming has seen emense Wii support. Infact their are three Sonic games on the Wii and of those three , two are exclusively found only on Wii. Now of course I hate rail games so I never picked up Sonic Secret Rings or The black knight. But Sega gave more exclusive love to the Nintendo hardcore fanbase then they have on any other platform. Even porting Sonic Unleashed to Wii when they decided to give the 360/PS3 another chance to succeed.

Samba Da Amigo revoluntionalized musical games when the franchise was born on the Sega DreamCast. Well the game didn't sell all that well it pioneered music software. Sega then decided that the WiiMote was perfect for the second title in the franchise. So Sega decided to bring the next Samba Da Amigo game exclusively to the Wii. Sega took yet another of its hardcore franchises and picked the Wii as the perfect platform making it yet another exclusive for the Wii.

Sega chose yet again to take a hardcore franchise and put it on the Wii. Night's Into Dreams was one of the most critically acclaimed games during its lifespan. Today gamers are willing to shell out alot of dough for the origional title. So knowing how big Nights was Sega chose to give Wii owners the exclusive sequal. Now I know many have complained the sequal lacked that extra special touch. However no one can deny that it was a major move in shoring up Sega's support for Wii.

So in conclusion I think as evident above it would appear Sega is Nintendo's most hardcore supporter. If you disagree and have another publisher in mind please provide proof like shown above and let the VGChartz community decide.
