^ AC2 better than U2 guaranteed? GTFO! No way! I hated how more PS3 owners bought more of that AC rubbish than Drake's Fortune, I still have faith they won't be fooled this time!

Assassin's Creed deserved to sell 3 million on PS3 for it's medieval open world setting alone.

And Assassins Creed II will be a much improved game, a bona fide AAA title with >90% reviwes on average, and strongest contender to GOTY this year. It believe it will outselll Uncharted II.

Assassin's Creed II PS3 version 4-4.5 million lifetime.

Uncharted II 3-4 million lifetime.

Both are epic, movie-like action adventure games that gamers love.

AC is movie-like? Not once did I feel like I was playing a movie-like game while running through that atrociously misreviewed hogwash.

The two gameplay pictures don't look outrageous and they aren't better than what im used to. The cutscenes are something else, but they are just cutscenes. Considering their statements that the graphics in multiplayer aren't being compromised I don't really see what you guys are looking at.

Are PS(X) gamers so enthused by cutscenes since the days of the PS1 that they forget that cutscene != real game play or the visuals you'll see 99% (hopefully not more) of the time?

Tease.

@ CGI They come in the same financial year.

Point?

They're not even in the same genre, don't appeal to the same crowd, and one is a sequel. Again, your point?

You asked if there was any connection. I offered you one. Besides that point, chances are Uncharted 2 will whip Alan Wake in terms of sales.

Uncharted 2 is day 1 for me. Too bad it will cost me US$120.

Again, how do their sales coincide? Alan Wake is coming in the Spring of 2010, is a new IP, and IS NOT in the same genre as Uncharted 2. How do they relate, at all, besides fiscals? And even with fiscals, so? Killzone 2 came in the same fiscal as Gears 2, did it compete with it in sales? I don't think so...

He made the connection, ask him.

In any case Gears and Killzone 2 both have a connection as games with massive hype coming out of E3 2005. One became a symbol of Xbox 360 success, and the other became a symbol of something else for the PS3.

Since the PS3 don't have much else this year Uncharted 2 will easily be GOTY for PS3 unless you include multiplatforms, because if you do it's going to be Assassin's Creed II guaranteed and possibly CoD 6 as a nominee.

I wonder if Uncharted II can outsell Alan Wake, it's gonna be an interesting battle in the long run.

It's THESE kinds of statements that always make me shake my head....Ummm, inFAMOUS and Killzone 2 are chopped liver? What about Demon's Souls, or Ratchet & Clank? The PS3, so far, has actually seen plenty of games this year exclusive to it.

I don't follow what you're saying, at all! And Alan Wake is coming out at a whole entire different period. How do their sales even coincide?

Also, I find it interesting that people, who normally do nothing but bash Sony and the PS3, frequent these kinds of threads.

Hey, there's a lot less Xbox fans visiting Sony threads than vice versa. The last Alan Wake thread was infested with haters that downplayed everything about it. I'm just trying to be an equalizer.

Infamous is not a big game, it will barely sell a million. It's very far from being GOTY material. And while Ratchet may be a popular & nice game, it's in the same class with Banjo Kazoi and Viv Pinata, nothing you mention in GOTY discussions.

So besides Uncharted II there's only KZ2 that will be a contender for PS3 GOTY 2009. But not only was KZ2 released very early in the year, which gives it a natural disadvantage among voters, but I am very confident that Uncharted II will be praised more and win GOTY without much effort.

As for Alan Wake vs Uncharted II, what does it matter if they release ½ year apart? Both are important and hyped exclusives, both have a lot of movie influences (the music, story telling structure etc), both have adventure, action and explorer elements. Both cater to the mainstream action game players. And they are predicted to sell around 3 million each. I think it's a very interesting matchup, and my internal goal is that Alan Wake will beat Uncharted II in sales.

What else on PS3 would you match up against Alan Wake? Certainly not Heavy Rain anymore, anyone should realize by now that Heavy Rain will be slain in sales.

I'm sorry but the little guy in my avatar will be the star of the true Graphics king this year.

Killzone 2 was a success even if it didn't perform to OUR standards. It's still seen as the best looking game right now on consoles, shifted 750,000 in it's first few days on the market, and helped spike the PS3 that week. It's nothing to write home about, but it did fine.

The best looking console games right now are infact 2d because it doesn't take much performance or effort to perfect with modern technology.

Killzone 2 = Graphical effort != sales.

Killzone 2 = Sony being late in releasing key software.

Killzone 2 = Hyped game which became forgettable within a few months.

Maybe GT5 gets released this year? Could it get GOTY if so?
