I bet Nintendo doesn't. No need...yet.

Possible, but it still wouldnt guaretee a good launch for Natal.
When is Natal supposed to be releasing? Im sure its supposed to be towards the end of the year, a Holiday launch along with a pricecut would do a lot more than if they cut now and just waited for Natal to launch.

They will be virtually giving away consles after a price drop.
If Sony drop the Prices by $100
And the next day Microsoft drop the price by $50
We will be at square one again. Microsoft would be losing money but does that really matter? They will beat Sony and financially cripple them in the process. As a Sony supporter i really hope that they dont. Not because i dislike Microsoft but because killing off the competition is never a good thing.
Infact screw that, if i was Microsoft i would cut the price. Potentially losing a bit of money but establishing itself as the number 1 hardcore console of the generation.
You never know though, Sony hasn't been the no.1 Console producer since they started for nothing. And no Nintendo, you havn't since Sony turned the corner. Sony did this to Sega, they were not prepared. If this does happen Sony will battle through it and whatever doesn't kill them will make them stronger.

If I was MS I'd have a holidays only price reduction... from November the 1st until Jan 1st... people would perceive it as a huge bargain for a limited time and be all over it. Then drop it again at Natal launch perhaps. |
@ Kowen.
No need to reply to my other post. I agree with this what you just said.

Let me answer for him...
Sony is still a big brand, and if $300 is a sweet spot for the Console, and considering the Playstation brands strength in Europe, combined with the fact that GT5 is looking like it will release for the Holidays, we all know how strong that game is in Europe...
Well with all that, there is no excuse as to why the PS3 sales wouldn't skyrocket.

good point. it all depends when sony drop their price.

Well, why do you think such threads are made. If Sony can get the PS3 in the $200 dollars range, I expect huge numbers out of others, I still think 360 will beat the PS3 NA even with the price cut.
