Forums - Gaming - Who could care less about online in their games?

Depends on the game.

Some may find it odd that I really don't care about F1 2009 not having online... I really wouldn't want to race on F1 tracks against a load of fools online.

However many games I think would benefit from online... New Super Mario Bros is a definate no-buy from me as it is... with 4-player co-op online however it would shoot up my list of wanted games.

I detest online. I find it to be the single most repulsive act of gaming. I despise it. I would like nothing more than for it to meet the Eyes Of Justice and find itself being judged. Its foul and disgusting. Its pain is greater than a 1000 screaming infants screaming at you while the Tax man vists for the overdue taxes. Its makes me physically sick.

Now I would explain all that ^^ but The Simpsons is on.

Depends on the game.

I do think there is too much online in FPS right now though, and its really hurting the effort put in to the SP campaign side IMHO. While for example titles like Halo 3 and CoD 4 have great set pieces, the overall campaign in each seem really weak next to titles like Half Life 2.

Funnily enough I find MP get's too repetitive. Same maps, same tactics after a short while, and the only real difference is figuring which way the guys going to jig.

With that being said I do like online, particularly online only games - i.e. Unreal Tournament, Warhawk, Battlefield 1943, Day of Defeat, etc.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

It depends on the game. Winning a tough game of Starcraft on Iccup is hard to beat. But I will never ever touch online in a fighting game.

I LOVE ICELAND!

The phrase is 'I COULDN'T care less', not 'I could care less'. I have seen this mistake made by so many people on this forum.

Let us consult the caring continuum:

Apparently, a great deal of Americans never reach the stage where they actually couldn't care less.

They always care. At least a little.

Online certainly has its place, and i'll play around with it for a while if i'm given a good one (The Conduit lately, and i played Mario Kart Wii for about a month a ways back), but it will always be a hollow shell of gaming compared to a good single player mode.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

We are a caring and loving bunch of folks; the world's little rascals as it were.

I like the campaign mode more on most games, so online isn't as important for me. I do still like online multiplayer though.

Online is pretty much essential for FPS's, and sports games nowadays... ANd besides, it's always a plus.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... Certain games like shooters definitely benefit from online play because of replay value.
I don't have to have online, but it is a big plus for a lot of games.
