Forums - Nintendo - I need a price checl on selling my Wii system

@ dodece - i would trust gamestop, but they always seem to get he better end of the deal. I would use the $ to sell my wii to probably but 1 game, thats it, but ive alrdy invested on my 360 including 2 games, and a wireless headset + a 20gb hd and xbox live. I like the idea the soemtimes, stores like gamestop will offer promotional stuff but ill stick to locally as the transition is more smoothly once the deal is finalized.

@ patriot - i nvr said u were a little kid. The Wii isnt "u" (or else u would be a child), the wii is the wii. Id say the majority of wii games are more casual. Yes, ivr heard of those games, ive played house of the dead (add to list) and i metioned earlier i tried resident evil 4. I could try madworld and no more heroes, i dont have the time to pursue every hc game on the wii.

Well ty for every1 outputs, i have a mindset now what ill sell my wii for.

And for the record, i am not against any game console, wii 360 ps3, i am not the typical video game addict, just a normal human being who plays them for free time.

Above I'm a proud Gran Turismo fan, not a Sony fanboy, and now a proud 360 owner, but sharing xbox live accts ATM

End of 2009 Predictions (made Jan 1, 2009): My predictions were pretty accurate, the 360 was over and the Wii was just under.

Wii: 65 mil (yea I'm crazy) 360: 35 mil (its getting there) PS3: 30 mil (the slim better do well)

End of 2010 Predictions (made Jan 7, 2010):

Wii: 81 mil  360: 47 mil PS3: 45 mil

Dam Patriot sure loves the Wii. Just chill for a bit ok. Not everyone is into the same thing. And how can you be so negative against someone that doesnt like VC and Wiiware titles? Sure VC titles were good back in the days, but they're not that hot these days. I rather rent a new game then pay for an old game unless it was really really good.
Maybe his a graphics junkie as well, in which case HD consoles and PC gaming is better for him. He seems like he really likes the 360, thats telling you something about his taste in gaming.

250 USD for everything you have up for sale doesn't sound too bad. Good luck on the sale.

@PATRIOT7ME

Do yourself a favor, and review my game collection. I have owned four Nintendo consoles in my life, and have owned hundreds of games for them. Oh and for your information all the games on my list are games I currently own. Not games I owned at one point. I was playing Nintendo before you were a itch in your fathers pants. In other words I have been a fan for a long time.

However Nintendo isn't meeting my needs, and no a single game is not justification for me to keep a console I am not using. When I own a console I expect to also buy twenty games for it. To be honest Nintendo isn't churning out the games I want. Maybe next generation Nintendo will have a better offering for my tastes, but that is hardly today. Being a fan isn't about being blind. It is about liking something enough that you feel disappointed when it fails to meet your rather high expectations.

Don't call out people you don't know. Especially when their reasoning is sound. Oh and put up a damned game collection. They are useful when you ask someone for a game recommendation. How can we know what you like if we have no way to measure your tastes.

They're is alot of solid First Party software expected between now and 2011 (The end of the generation) But it doesn't seem like GranTurismo really like platformers and Nintendo's other first party content. He owned LOZ:TP but everyone who bought a Wii day one bought LOZ:TP, a true Zelda fan would hold out for the next installment.

But in the end I have to agree, Nintendo isn't supporting the adult demographic as well as they could. Nintendo's first party titles have been limited to mini-game compilations, tech demo's and the odd really good game. Many non-Nintendo fans are bound to be upset with Nintendo's handling of this generation.

Can you blame them, 2011 is just around the corner and we still don't have a Donkey Kong or StarFox game. Nintendo has abandoned various franchises in favour of tech demo's and mini-game compilations!

Of course I still love Nintendo and think they are the best first party developer. I just can understand why a gamer would want to sell his Wii. Heck I even bought a 360 do to the lack of solid support from Nintendo. The games I really wanted to see (StarFox, DonkeyKong, Custom Robo, Pikmin 3) none of them have been brought to the table! Yah you can argue Pikmin3 was unnofficially announced last year. But Nintendo still hasn't shown us anything.

Mate if you don't want it then sell it, I do have to say that you should give it one more chance though and buy Wii Sports Resort, otherwise you can buy another Wii in a couple of years if you want to play the exclusives that come and it'll probably cost the same as the amount you get for it's sale so it's not gonna hurt you.

Bottom line is, if you don't want it, sell it. You should get above $200 for the console and games :)

@PATRIOT7ME

Please tell me all of that wasn't serious...

@GranTurismoHelperMax

Do what you have to do man, times are tough and if you're going to sell it there's no time better than the present.

Not sure what the big deal is here.

If someone isn't interested in buying games for a console and is presumably no longer using it, and all that console does is play games, and you would rather have the money it resold for instead, why WOULDN'T you sell it?

Generally, after 2-3 years (I would hope earlier), most should be able to tell whether they like a particular platform or not. If you need the money spent on that purchase back or would rather spend that money on something else, hanging onto it in the hopes that a 3 year trend will miraculously do a 180 is probably not the best approach.

If you're indifferent and the cost of a console is pretty irrelevant then sure; hang onto it for the random title or two in the future that you might be interested in buying, but otherwise the worst case scenario for selling: pick up another one down the line when it retails for less, or buy a used one at that point for even less than that. The only thing you lose are your VC and DD games (no loss if you don't buy them).

@ bardic - i have a pc and 360 now. pc can play most games fine.

Cool deal, I've recently rekindled my love of modding my computer. It's an expensive hobby, but well worth it.

On topic, you'll probably be able to sell your Wii gear for around$200-$300. Try Craigslist, I love using it, and I don't have to pay seller fees like crappy Fee-BAY. Also, as someone said, do not sell it toe Gamestop. They'll give you 25% of what you're looking to get.
