I guess less than 100k first week...

Pretty enigmatic... It can be 80k but also it can be 20k... This will be pretty important week for PSP. There is also another pretty big launch - Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron... also new Castlevania is right around the corner - October 23th.

If the PSP has 2-3 more good games planned for this holiday season (not sure if it does or not) the PSP could do very very well this year... new design, and a slwe of new software.. tight.
Sony needs to make a $99.99 version of the PSP that has no mdeia functions and only plays games. And an $109.99 version that only has media... imo. And keep the $169.99 one that does both.

Not much. It sold "only" 300k in Japan so far, so it wasn't such a huge seller. It is 10 years old game after all.

Square should re-release FF7 on PSP. Of course up date graphics, add some sh!t and release it. I am sure it would sell at least 1.5-2 million worldwide.
Now dont go crazy like some dork and say "OMG it would brake sales, 5 million minimun and other crap".

I would say 40-60 k , but it will have good legs and hit ~ 200k or even more ... maybe , if it goes well even 1 million ... but for that it has to become a real cult classic for the PSP . If it hits more than 40k first week , Il call it a success :)

I'd guess about what hunter_alien did. I don't think it's going to hit 1 million worldwide. If it couldn't pull in more than 300K in Japan it's going to struggle.

In America: I expect 80k first week
