Forums - Gaming - Bethesda on Bungie's next game publisher

Remember, Microsoft has the right of first refusal to anything Bungie makes. So, basically, if it looks good, they'll publish it, but otherwise it's not even worth publishing.

Was this made official, or confirmed to be the case?

Yeah, Bethesda and Sony can afford it, but Nintendo, the publishers with the largest cash flow, cannot.

Makes so much sense.

Seeing that the game is more than likely going to be a FPS game, why would they want to dev on Wii?

That's beside the point. Bethesda implies Nintendo cannot afford to publish the game whereas Bethesda and Sony can.

Nintendo published GoldenEye and Perfect Dark on the N64, BTW. I'm not saying they are likely to publish a Bungie game, but Bethesda worded it terribly.

GoldenEye and Perfect Dark were both made by a first party studio- Rare. Plus, the Wii has not sold an FPS like the N64 sold Goldeneye as yet.

But have they decided what console it's on? If it's 360 exclusive, Sony obviously can't publish it, if PS3 exclusive, Microsoft obviously can't publish it, but if it's PS360, then neither of them can publish it. So either it's up in the air, or Bethesda are being dim.

Microsoft seems to be the most logical one here.

Is Bethesda really THAT big? I mean, sure, they churn out good games, but they don't churn them out very often.

I find it very unlikely that they are on the level of someone like EA for example
