Forums - Sony - Sony is the only company I am 100% sure will make a next gen console

I edited the blue ocean, since i was what mistaken about the blue ocean expresision meant.

And tryed to explain to people that I dont think nintendo will drop out, because I agree all 3 brand console will be here enxt gen.

I wasnt trying to convice anyone, just post a interisting opinion I have on nintedo future could be good as a 3rd party and offer less risks. Peharps the way I put wasnt the best and was a flaming magnet.

I wil stop posting in this thread. Because it achieved nothing... and I am tired

You guys can have: NINTENDO, SONY AND MS all WILL BE BACK NEXT GENERATION FOR SURE with new consoles.

Bye.

I always thought Sony WOULDNT enter next gen but i acctually think they will now. T3H C3LL is more powerfull then any of the ecompetitors, and we WILL be seeing the full power of it by at the max 2011, and that will be standard for next gen, so Microsoft will have to switch to Blu-Ray to keep up with Sony, and then Sony will make lots because of microsoft using blu ray, and sony invented bluray. As for Nintendo, I expect them to switch to HD DVD next gen, get better graphics Harddrives, but still the same Online. I also expect them to make a "new" WiImote, but make it slimmer and look better, but make all Wiimotes compatible with it. Im also expecting them to keep the exact same games. "New Super Mario Bros Wii HD", "Super Mario 64 Wii HD"

Why be a successful 3rd party developer if your system can sell 50M+ easy?
They WILL NOT drop out lol, they are making a killing.

Why would sony be a 3rd party if  their system can sell 140+ million easy.

Each console generation is another surprise. And not even nintendo believe they can have more suscess with their next console than they had in this one.

Because like you said they made a killing in this one that wont be easy to repeat.

try not obvious posts next time.

Holy crap did you not read anything I typed, or you for that matter?

You said that Nintendo could be a good 3rd party supporter,

I said why would they do that because they are making a killing.

Where in the hell did I ever mention the PS3 not selling a but load?

All I did was say Nintendo is a great company as it is, why cut their losses?

You are definitely a sony fanboy lol.

I pretty much am too but I don't discriminate other consoles for it.

Try to pay attention next time.

The whole argument about Nintendo dropping out of hardware is just silly, considering they are ALWAYS the most profitable company when it comes to hardware sales. The Gamecube made them more profit than the PS2 or Xbox made for either of their competitors.

Why anybody could ever even hypothetically surmise that they'd give up those profits is just silly, and sorry, deserves face plants.

If anybody were to drop out next gen, it's Sony, as they have to eventually answer to investors for the years and years of losses that the Playstation division has given them. And with them in their worst financial situation they've faced in decades, it's very easily in the realm of possibility that they will drop out.

Exactly, Nintendo is a sole gaming company. It would take a tremendous loss of money and support for them to quit. I could see them sticking around for the remainder of time lol.
They will always have fans that support their system as long as they pump out those mario, metroid, zelda, and what not games.

Nintendo has said that they would go out of the video game business altogether before becoming a software-only company. Every single major console they've released has been profitable - not just profitable, but wildly profitable. They're not going to release a console that is going to lose them money. They do not take that kind of risk.

Nintendo is abotu as conservative as you can get, but only because they love money.

There's more money to be made when they release hardware.

Nintendo's chance of dropping out is much lower than Sony's.

The only way I see Nintendo dropping out in the foreseeable future is if a meteorite falls on their headquarters...

"facepalm"

The poker table metaphor does not hold weight. Nintedo doesnt have to go 'all in' to release a next gen console, it is very unlikely that they will release a machine with Pixar quality graphics.  Microsoft and especially Sony, are limited in that if and when they release a new console they need to beef up it's graphics to justify people upgrading, moreso since they've already anounced motin controls for their current systems.  Now if Next gen is going to be an increase in graphics than that means that games will become even more expensive to make and an even bigger risk so yes you would have to go 'all in', unless like Nintendo you have an upgrade that brings graphical quality up to 360/PS3 levels, which becuase of the expanded market largely do to the Blue Ocean strategy, is less risky than now will all but guarantee that even if the Wii 2 doesnt do to well (which is unlikely) it will at worst cause Nintendo to lose most of the Wii money.

and cartriges could very well be the next format for Nintendo games.

Cartriges again..... *faceplam* again?

I really should just ignore post like yours.

Sony and microsoft can just stay with their current consoles if nintendo makes a console just as powerfull.

Microsoft and Sony is already with better techonology than nintendo with natal and ps3 wand in motion technology.

Expanded market? the wii has a market share, the wii 2 market share is 0% as of now. Why would buy a nintendo console if Sony and MS motion tech will be better than the nintendo motion technology and even be more powerfull.

And the wii2 would be more expensive than the 360/natal and ps3 when the time comes which already will have motion control.

Dude, all the facepalms are directed at you because it makes you sound like your own ideal world without knowing that you are living in an existing world with better innovations than your own.

And Sony and Microsoft DO NOT have better technology with Natal and the Wand. They are trying to play catch-up because Nintendo is, "haha, we told you so!" so that Sony and Microsoft are trying to capture and steal Nintendo's thunder. Obviously from the start, Nintendo had better technology than Microsoft and Sony. How so? Innovation. The PS3 and Xbox 360 are just beefed up consoles with computer parts, while the Wii is centered around an imput device (the Wii-mote) to get the consumer involved in games.

Oh, and if Sony and Microsoft decide to make another console, they too will be at 0% marketshare. The Wii is ONLY a stepping stone for Nintendo's next console. It is the tip of the iceberg for bigger and better things to come. And that part of the iceberg is the next generation. The Wii should be fully compatible with its successor and would fully enhance the Wii games with better graphics and better controls, possibly through firmware.

I don't see why people are derailing his topic.

The moment he hit post, the entire topic went off the rails, down the hill, became a giant snowball, wiped out the Gamestop in town (this is the only good part of this story), and then hit the fire department, causing it to burst into flames.  These flames then hit an oil depot, which then exploded, causing avalanche to happen, which then cause the dormant volcano to erupt, which causes a fault line to become active, which then trigged the San Andreas faultline to go off, causing California to fall into the Pacific.

In other words, it was self-induced derailment, which then causes a disaster to happen, nearly on par with the flood in the Bible.  And, in this case, we don't even have an Ark to save the animals.

I only say it's not a sure thing because happenings like that are technical possibilities!
