You could be mean and say it'll do it without including the PS3.

Everyone knows that Sony dropped the price like an angry lumberjack to get marketshare. It didn't do them much good this generation and I believe they only made something like an average of $33 profit on every PS2.

PS2 is at 136.3m through December 2008 according to Sony - it was announced with the PS2 price cut.

"Not sure where all the Ps2 hate is coming from but I agree with this post. Wii is tracking to sell better then Ps2 lifetime, however this gen is so split between 3 consoles that the HD twins might eat into Wii potential sales. Last gen it was a clean sweep for the Ps2."

If there will be a Wii "remake/upgrade," it will outsell the PS2. What I mean is, look at the DS. It went from DS -> DS Lite -> DSi. PS2 basically only had PS2 -> PS2 Slim :\.
