Forums - Nintendo - Wii to dominate the charts next year!

Obviously wrote that on the PS3 browser -_-

Nintendo have a strong line-up but the OP is way off..

Wii works off the back of momentum of which next year it will be coming off the back of Wii Sports Resort, Wii Fit Plus and New Super Mario Bros. Wii.. They'll be the big charting titles for much of the first half of 2010 and beyond.

Next year we'll begin to see a steady stream of third party titles using Wii MotionPlus and of course a steady stream of Nintendo titles including Metroid: Other M, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Wii Vitality and most likely a new IP from Retro Studios and a new title from EAD, perhaps Art Academy or something similar.. Zelda Wii is a 2011 title, along with Project Sora's new IP, Next Level Games next title, Monster Games next title etc..

It'll be a good year next year but the Wii business doesn't operate in the way you've stated, there's a method to the madness believe it or not..

Would this be something we are not used to by now?

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

Well despite the nature of the thread, 2010 will more than likely be a better year for Wii... and all around if you ask me. First of all, Wii has a much better route for the second half of 2009. Monster Hunter 3 (JP), Wii Sports Resort, Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympics, Wii Fit Plus, New Super Mario Bros Wii, Red Steel 2, Dead Space Extraction, Rabbids Go Home, Shaun White Snowboarding: World Tour, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, etc etc. Of course, all of these titles won't sell a million copies and not all are AAA games but it's a good selection for the later half of the year. Try comparing that to the first half. With a better push towards the end Wii will probably have a good holiday season and carry into 2010 well.

Then of course when we hit 2010 Wii already has huge first party support that we know of along with some big 3rd party games to release. And of course I expect many other big things to happen including a price cut sometime around summer that year. But it won't just be big for Wii. Both PS3 and 360 should have a better year as well for similar reasons. Really it seems that 2009 is a slower year simply because how good 2008 was. But it won't stay that way because the later half of 2009 is filled with big titles. Can't suppress and industry for too long if it keeps having big things hit the market. So after 2009 ends well 2010 should take off. Almost in the same fashion that 2007 ended well and 2008 took off. And of course the developers and the Big 3 will work to ensure that.

I think what we see now is going to be normal for the rest of the Wii's life. Now having said that Resort could well inspire some kind of rampant zombified Wii console sales explosion, but thats unlikely.

Oh and thank you to the trolls for firstly kicking a kids first or second thread topic in the balls but also proving your incapable of humility. (applause)

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Bla bla bla wishful thinking, no basis, and no good analysis either.

Don't forget the lack of a good rebuttal either!

Also, While they are announced they have no release date. Youa re pulling 2010 out of your ass. Zelda in 2010? really? the last zelda was announced with gameplay footage in 2004 and came out in 2006. We still have no gamplay footage.

Huge for being a TV but that's nothing compared to my projector screen all 117" of it

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

The only thing true about this thread is the title...

I know, I know...I post the pic way too often here. But what can I do... I love it! :)

67??? Come on that screen is no way near 67 inches.  Looks about 52 at most.

A 16:9 screen has a ratio of 1:1.14 between the width and the diagonal, so that means the screen width of a 67 inch would be about 58 inches. The width of an xbox 360 is about 12 inches. So the question then is, looking at that picture, do you think the screen is as wide as 5 of the 360s?
