KOFXII keep getting bad reviews: Famitsu 55%, OXM 65%, PTOM 60% ~ average 60%. That's disturbing, especially for someone under nickname "mai". I'm still curious to know what exactly SNKP f***ed up to get that bad reviews, but I should consider my purchase. Well, again, that's a shame for someone under nickname "mai".
I guess, this game will be a flop even more than it expected to be. We all know that best days of SNK (SNK Playmore nowadays) passed long time ago with NeoGeo, and newer generation of gamers have no appeal to KOF brand whatsoever, good reviews are vital for this game. SNKP put a lot of effort into this game, especially into presentation (maybe, that was too much effort, and that leads to very little effort put in actual gameplay and balance?.. I'll find out this soon enough, when I can get an actual review). But, again, newer generation hardly will spot any difference between KOFXII and, for instance, BlazBlue (or give more credit to the latter) level of presentation - hard to blame them. Though KOFXII is pretty much a total pixel art compared to relatively cheap-made Arc System Works games based on vector graphics, work made by SNKP was a total waste of manpower. They should have chose low cost production model instead or don't even bother developing game in HD (or make a good game at least... old method, but it works... usually =) ).
Back to cheap rehashes again? How bad this gonna hurt SNKP? Will they go out of the business? I feel bad for them.
