lol, someone actually mentioned GT5 mode? it won't be as good as Dirt 2. those races in GT5 will be basically normal races on offroad tracks - that's not a rally. Dirt 2 is a must for every offraod racing fans while rally races in GT5 will be an addition. it's like saying that WWe vs Smackdown is as good as UFC 2009 Undisputed - fake fighting will never be as good as real one.

Pro + Forza Motorsport 3 + Dirt 2 is the best combo for racing fans.

Actually, I find this combo the best for racing fans;

Race Pro + Forza 3 + Dirt 2 + Gran Turismo 5 + NFS Shift. Or are you claiming that racing fans all over the world are better off just owning one console and not two or more (and possibly a PC)?

when Gran Turismo 5 will come out then we can talk, but so far if you're a racing fan and want to play racing games on a console you have only one option - 360. Shift looks to me like Grid ripoff and while i really wanted to get this game at the beginning now i doubt that i will. i still have Grid that i didn't even played yet despite the fact that i have it(didn't have the time and it was only 10$ new) and then i will have Dirt 2 and Forza 3. i might pick it up when it will be cheap but, i doubt i will get tired of all racing games i already have(need to pick up Race Pro before though if i find one for 20$). i might pick Shift for psp if it will be very good so i will have some other racing game besides Gran Turism and Ridge Racer 2 because, besides rpgs and fighting games i play only racing games on psp and i sold last week few of my ps2/psp/wii games i already finished(both Burnouts, F1 2005 and ATV Offroad Fury Pro) - especially that i have to stop buying so many games. i plan to sell ps2 and probably wii when i finish all the games i have - i don't have that much time anymore for all my consoles and i would rather spent my money on something else then buying more games. my ps2 and wii would give me a lot of $$$ for my gaming budget for the next 2-3 years.

to me Race Pro, Forza 3 and Dirt 2 is the best combo for racing fans who own a console.

Dirt 2 for all offroad racing,

Race Pro for european style stock car racing and really hardcore pc type racing simulation,

Forza 3 for online and as a big racing game,

do you read what you write?

anyway, I'm kinda looking forward to it. not a priority, but if there's a demo I'll check it out

Warons at it again, anyway guys, keep this thread on Dirt 2 and try not to mention any *other* racing sims.

It does look very nice.

Do I need to compare it to something else to validate my opinion?

dirt 2 certainly looks good, il pick it up preowned next year as theres far to many good games coming out. i still havent tried dirt 1 yet.

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Hope it works well with racing wheels, Grid was awful in this department.

GT5 has the WRC licence so I expect the real rally deal.

As for Dirt 2, I'm up for the rally mode, but not the rest of the filler. I like the WRX STI love though. Love my Impreza...

Yes.

that looks extremely polished.

This looks better than GT5 which would suggest it's coming from PC version.

What other rally games are out at the moment or coming out other then GT with its rally mode?

I still think Colin McRae and Official WRC were the best rally games (PS2 versions). I have Dirt 1 but found it boring. The physics in Colin McRae and Offical WRC games crap all over Dirts IMO.

That sentence makes me almost believe that you don't know that DiRT is a Colin McRae game....
