If you though MP3 was great because of its exploration, solitude, and immersion, youll love the MPTrilogy next month. MP3 is highly reguarded by most serious Metroids fans as the easiest, simplist, and most linear of the series.

Nope Metroid Prime Hunters deserves that title. Oh and if you mean the whole series both fusion and metroid II are more linear than MP3 imo.

Well the handheld titles were more linear by nature (MPH was a mistake), so i wasnt really considering them.

Yeah I agree with that. I actually thought Metroid Prime 3 was the perfect balance though of in terms of Action and Adventuring aspects. If it wasn't for the fetch quest I would probably thought of it as my favorite Metroid. Instead it settles by just beating Prime 1 as the best Prime game. Still all metroid's are great, even hunters despite not being much of a metroid game was a good shooter game.(though I would never want metroid to ever be an Action- focused game ever again.)

I think the direction they took with Metroid Prime 3: Corruption was for the best. They decided to take the story a bit further with the Federation and make Samus interact with her ship as well. Like you said, this is quite something in my opinion. I thought Metroid Prime was the game that launched Samus into the 3D world, Metroid Prime 3 perfected the whole thing.

I can't wait to see what Nintendo and Team Ninja are going to do with Other M!

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

My biggest fault with MP3 was the story. Not because of the VO, or the plentiful cutsceens, but because it intruded into the exploration too much. The AU or other random characters were constaintly telling you where to go. It ruined the exploration part because it was too easy. Sure, missiles and other optional power ups were well hidden, but with other items you always knew where to go.

The combat was too easy also. Hypermode is great, but i never felt the dread of faceing a non-boss enemy in MP3. I never died in my first play through (veteran), and on only two occasions in Hypermode.

I don't necessarily want it to be action focused... but I do want the action elements in between boss fights to present itself as Samus being very capable (i.e a badass), especially in Other M. They don't need to highlight the action sequences in the game, but when they do happen they should be special and show Samus' real power as the guardian of the chozo empire. It should remain as an adventure game with refined action elements. I want the boss fights to be more intuitive and epic than ever before, the puzzle elements and adventure to remain the same, and the game to have slighlty more story and immersion. Good Luck Team Ninja x Ninty

I already pre-order the Metroid Primer Trilogy.... but the game I really want is Metroid: The Other M. That's gonna be the best one

@ Voltaire... I did think so at times that the character's intruded... what I think would have been slighlty better is if they had a message system that didn't interfere with what you were doing... It does seem like Samus gets a message and her suit functions die lol!

Yeah, and you cant 'ignore' it, or even pause while youve got a message. I guess its more realistic, seeing as how your boss will want to keep you up-to-date, but it was al, too easy :(
