This controls like Pikmin? Then I guess I might not get it then.

Deep, that's how!

Seriously, rent the game. It's very much like Pikmin, but with more depth and exploration, and simpler puzzles. The bosses in particular offer much, much more complexity than those in Pikmin. On the down side, the controls are slightly inferior to the original Pikmin's (because of the lack of a C-Stick) and much, much worse than NPC Pikmin. But they still work pretty good; great once you get used to them. And if you decide to pass this one up...well, your loss, dude.
