Forums - Gaming - Prototype is Painfully Mediocre >.< (imo)

I just got prototype for PC, and I have to say omg I think this game sucks! Just a few pluses and minuses:

+ Wall running is fun

+ The fists/scythes are fun to weild

- Repetitive much?

- Graphics are terrible, even at 1920x1200, 4xAA, high quality (ground textures and clothing are especially awful)

-Too much blood and foul language, seems kind of tacked on just to make it seem "mature"

-Hulk: Ultimate Destruction with a different face? Plays exactly the same!

Feel free to tell me how wrong I am; I'm stating this merely as opinion. Care to share your general impressions, anyone who has played it?

I just finished the game...and you're I completely disagree with you.

- Can you post some screenshots of the horrible graphics?

- The side quest suck in the beginning, but they are great once you're donw with the game, and you're trying to work on getting some achievements.

- Foul language and gore....ROFLOL...wtf...are you a representative of the defunct christian coalition?

- The storyline mission are NOT repititive, and that main quest line provides alot of action and options as to how to go about finishing the quest.

- Similiar to Hulk....HECK YEAH....I love that game!

^lol

See, lots of different fun is to be had in prototype.

it's easy to determine before whether or not you'll like prototype:
do you like mindless violence for hours on end in your games?

if 1) yes - then you'll love the game
2) no - you will be bored to death by the game

Can I jump in the air and punch a helicopter? Possibly throw the wreckage at another helicopter?

My favorite is grabbing a car and running up the side of a building with the car... jumping off the side of the building over a helicopters and throwing a car at it.

Or landing an elbow drop on a tank from 30 stories up like it was wrestlemania.

You know seece is going to have your head for this, right?

Repetitive gameplay? You do know how to switch your weapons, right? ;)

So instead of slicing people in half with the whip fist, I can slice people in half using the sword. Is that what people call variation these days?

I LOVE ICELAND!

This game is great, i even went to the launch.

I'm on mission 26 of the game and I'm really enjoying it. I don't get the repetitive complaint since I find that the missions are pretty varied and the powers are different enough to be fun to master.

I really don't understand the hate this game is getting from some people. Well I do somewhat since some Sony fans act weird towards multi-platform games and especially since they were hoping Infamous would outsell this game instead of Prototype outselling it on just one of the consoles alone.

Maybe some people just don't like the game.  The OP doesn't even own inFamous, if you haven't kept up with the thread and instead decided to assume that he was a PS3/inFamous fanboy based solely on his original post.

Personally, I don't think Prototype is my type of game either.  Autoaim?  No thanks.  The world doesn't seem particularly interesting.  The game seems a tad too over the top and tries too hard to be badass and cool.  Elbow dropping tanks is a bit ridiculous to me.  If Hulk: Ultimate Destruction is your thing, great, I'm sure you will enjoy the game.  It's just not my thing, and it has nothing to do with owning a PS3.

I'm almost positive that the game will get boring for me after an hour or two.  Just like Crackdown, GTA4, and Assassin's Creed.  The only sandbox game I've liked this gen is Saint's Row 2, but I haven't played Prototype or inFamous yet (plan on picking up inFamous tomorrow though).

You haven't even played Prototype yet you're making comments like that about it and lecturing others about assuming?  Seriously it's you that doesn't appear to be keeping up in this thread since it's obviously about people's opinions of the game that have actually played it.  As for the fanboy comment I may be assuming but I'm willing to bet you're one of the people I'm referring to.
