Forums - Nintendo - Capcom: "How many Nintendo games got online co-op?"

Gnizmo's point:  The generation isn't over.  The Wii still may see online co-op games.

BMaker11's point:  Other consoles already have plenty of them.  Instead of whining about the Wii's lacking, buy one of them.

Both of your points seem clear to me however I'm not sure what you two are arguing about.

Monster Hunter Tri will solve this for Capcom.

And Battalion Wars 2 online co-op is amazing and addictive.

Although it didnt do well, Battalion Wars was online Co-op.

Online isnt always required. When it is added it is perceived value thusly the consumer will think it is worth more. Even if it isnt implemented well.

That is if the gamer has access to online play, which isn't always the case, and doesn't apply to every game.

But regardless, this is the first game of this team, even if the people have experience in other game companies. Trust me, it's more important they make a good game first, and then they have that out of the way so they can focus on making the next game even bigger.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

I wasn't expecting this to have online so I'm not surprised. But pretending like online co-op is unheard of or impossible on the Wii is retarded when the same publisher is about to release Monster Hunter 3 in 9 days.

Also Spyborgs isn't on PS360, so the platforms and its fanboys are irrelevant.

He clearly didn't mean that, since not only Monster Hunter, but also the sequel to Spyborgs. I think his comment is that it's not that common on the Wii, but still poorly worded. Really poorly worded.

My point is broader than that. It is unbelievably stupid to tell someone to buy a different system because they want online co-op in an exclusive game. If this were a multi-platform game, and the PS360 version did have online co-op while the Wii version didn't he  would have something close to a valid argument. As it stands he is essntially telling people that want the game and online co-op to spend $200-$400 on a system that cannot play it at all.

Although I feel I should add that I could not possible care less about online co-op, or online in general. I prefer it when my computer opponents/allies do not randomly scream racial slurs at me or the enemy. For the most part that really is the online experience from my point of view.

Oh that wasn't just aimed at him. That's why I left that first part vague.

THIS. That's like telling someone that wants DLC in FF13 to buy a Wii and Animal Crossing because it does have DLC. It makes no fucking sense. I know fanboys aren't fans of logic but they could at least pretend that there was some coherence to their own arguments. As it stands, such a statement is so far out of relevance (or reality for that matter) that it comes off as desperate trolling.

Battalion Wars 2
Endless Ocean
Super Smash Bros: Brawl
Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles - Echoes of Time
Nights: Journey of Dreams
Guitar Hero: World Tour
Animal Crossing

However Monster Hunter 3 may be added soon to this list. (And it is from Capcom ...)

These.

Mario Strikers Charged Football is another

It all starts at the top. Something like online gaming will only get ahead if the console maker takes it seriously. MS and Sony take it seriously. Nintendo doesn't. It sets precedents that third parties follow. Putting in online is additional costs. If third parties see most successful Wii games don't have online play, even when they could have, then guess what, they'll follow suit because they won't see an added sales benefit to it. It's precisely why so many games on the 360 and PS3 do have online gameplay/co-op. They see that so many big sellers have it and want to be able to entice buyers with it.

If you as a Wii gamer don't want to stand for this treatment, then it's simple. Don't support games that should have online co-op but do not. In other words, don't buy Spyborgs...and don't buy New Super Mario Bros. Wii either.
