Forums - Nintendo - Capcom: "How many Nintendo games got online co-op?"

“Online co-op isn’t just a ‘oh, let’s just tuck that in there.’ There’s a ton of design work on top of the technological implementation that would have to be done. Then there’s online testing to do. Online is really, really hard in anything and should never be done as an afterthought. And in 2009, I don’t think it’s absolutely required in every game. How many Wii titles have online co-op, even from Nintendo?” - Christian Svensson, Corporate Officer/VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development

Now it's Nintendo's fault Spyborgs doesn't have online co-op. Capcom, Capcom...

Sven should keep his mouth shut.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Lol, Nintendo and Capcom in the same sentence makes my ears feel warm. Is the boycott lifted yet?

I kind of lifted my boycott, but I'm seriously considering it once again.

True. There's a disturbing trend among PC developers nowadays where they're removing local multiplayer and have only online play. You can still play with your buddies in the same room but I like to have the option.

Sven is an asshole.

However, in this case, I 100% agree with him. Online coop is not really needed in Spyborgs, and it's not like it's mandatory considering how many online coop games there are on the Wii (about zero).

Besides, the Wii is absolutely horribly designed for online games. Both for us gamers as for developers.

If Nintendo do it, they say they monopolize, don't give them any space to inovate, so on. If they don't do it, devs don't do it as well.

Yep... sounds right... not!

What a pathetic excuse. Why can't they be the dev to do it first? Just another dev's excuse for not doing everything they can with the Wii.

yeah, exactly what I think. if others don't do it, I guess it would be good to be the first, or the best in this case.

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

Another time to say "bad third party's supporting to Wii"; and it's not because of the Wii, is because of the lazy people who develop for the console: Ninty should done all themselves, the third party will never do something new using always a new excuse :(

CURRENTLY PLAYING: Xenoblade (Wii), Super mario 3D land (3DS), Guild Wars (PC)
