Forums - General - Deadliest month for US in Afghanistan since the war started (2001)

http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/asiapcf/07/20/afghanistan.us.troops.killed/index.html

So Obama won on a platform of bringing our troops home, and instead we are up to 30 deaths this month (and it's not over), due to an offensive that he started.

I wonder how he is going to blame this on Bush?

Funny how power changes a man.

Don't be an Ahole theRealMafoo.. People are being killed out there and you want to attack Obama with it.. that's low.. Like the Taliban cares who is in charge and says to themselfs: "Ow let's kill some more americans cause it will make Obama look bad cause we killed less when Bush was in charge"

My thought go to the family of the killed soldiers..

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

*Sigh* another day another Mafoo "I hate Obama" thread, and this one with a rather sick and tenuous reason. I don't understand this vendetta you have?

OT: I think it has become such a horrible war and I am not happy that Obama hasn't been able to keep his promise of slowing things down. But unfortunately, like all politicians he can't keep every promise he made. But he is a good guy and I believe he will find resolve eventually. My thoughts are with those unfortunate to have lost someone in this awful war.

Also, very well said Nikkom

Yeah, he's always made it clear he wanted to focus the attention on Afghanistan, not retreat. The retreat would be in Iraq,

People will die, no matter who is calling the shots. No need to pin it on Obama.

McCain ftw!!! jk

This has been the worst month as well for UK troops. Including one senior officer, highest ranking death since the Falklands War. This is no different to the US and other countries in this conflict. And can hardly be blamed on a change of leader for one of the countries.

Hmm, pie.

troop increase in Afganistan = more deaths. its simple math.

personally, i think that the UK should pull out, i dont think we gain anything much from the war, certainly any gains we do make, wont be worth the time, money and lives its cost so far.

plus pulling out saves us money, we should reduce to having a small, very well maintained defence force, and remain neutral in almost all conflicts.

I guess I'm one of the very few people out there who are both pro-Iraq war and pro-Afghanistan war.

I don't necessarily agree with the means, but I certainly agree with the ends.

I one thing i am desperatly unsure about is why Britain, who have a smaller army than the US have been assigned to the most dangerous place in the the middle east. Helmand Province.

Its almost as if we have better trained troops

Anyway, hows this got anything more to do with Obama than Bush? Obama Blair Bush Brown they are all contributing to the war for not pulling out.
