Forums - Nintendo - Setteling Old Scores: IGN's Nintendo 64 Reviews

Looking at IGNs highest rated N64 games, one sees that The Legend of Zelda:  The Ocarina of Time sits atop the entire list as the Greatest Nintendo 64 game of all time with a score of a perfect 10 ( http://ign64.ign.com/index/reviews.html?constraint.floor.article.overall_rating=10&constraint.return_all=is_true&sort.attribute=article.overall_rating&sort.order=desc)

However, when you continue just a short piece down the list ( http://ign64.ign.com/index/reviews.html?constraint.floor.article.overall_rating=9&constraint.return_all=is_true&sort.attribute=article.overall_rating&sort.order=desc), you see that Conker's Bad Fur Day and Majora's Mask are tied with 9.9s, Mario 64 and Pefect Dark are tied with 9.8s, and Wave Race 64, Goldeneye 007, and Excitebike 64 are all tied with 9.7s.

Much like Ocarina of Time, Banjo Kazooie has the 9.6 score all to itself and Space Station Silicon Valley is the sole Nintendo 64 game to have earned a score of 9.5 from IGN.

So what do you think should be the proper order of these Top 10 games on Nintendo 64?  Is Conker better than Majora's Mask, or is Majora's Mask better than Conker?  Is Super Mario 64 actually the greatest Nintendo 64 game despite Zelda's perfect 10?  Which of the racers is truely superior?  And which of the shooters?

Lol Space Station Silicon Valley got a 9,5???
I had it, because I found it somewhere in a bargain-bin and it was kind of fun, but a 9,5. Unbelievable...

Is what Id put it at

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

Tough to say. Conkers is the worst single player game there, but has the best multiplayer imo. Never played a few of those either.

well they said that majoras mask only got 9.9 for being a sequel so out of the list you gave:
zelda OOT
zelda MM
conker
perfect dark
mario 64
golden eye
excite bike

I would also put Diddy Kong Racing above Mario Kart 64 and Wave Race 64.
