@Mario: Actually, Lost and Damned is a full-length campaign, roughly twice as long as KZ2, and could be purchased in stores or online, and sold gangbusters... It still doesn't count?
With M$'s banner being "digital downloads are the wave of the future," your argument really falls flat... L&D is a completely new and exclusive game. Why is that such a hard pill to swallow? That still leaves PS3 up 2-1.

No because it's the Monkey Island Special Edition. A remake which also includes the original game.
Everything and it's momma got pushed to 2010. Bioshock, Bayonetta, MAG....what else is next?

Stop the overselling of lineup until you get the release dates for the games. This is a classic blunder on these forums don't overstretch, and you will not have to do the back peddling. I am personally sick of the hyping. How many times do PS3 owners need to fall face first into the pavement before they take the hint. Every time a game has the shit hyped out of it. We have the game collapse just out of the gates. I hate to burst bubbles, but GT5 is not going to have the sales some of you imagine. Perhaps around three million copies by the end of the year if it sells this year. That will not even put it in the top ten software titles. In fact it will probably lose to Forza. Members keep thinking that the Sony of today and its fan base are the same as they were last generation, and that is simply not true. That is why the best games, and the best exclusives so often fall on deaf ears. There is absolutely no reason to expect otherwise. Want greatness, but do not expect a epic success. It just doesn't seem to happen for Sony. Speaking to the 360 lineup this year it could be better, but it has some good range as far as the exclusives go. Microsoft is hitting all the bases. Not necessarily the best of each genre, but at the very least there is nothing being left out. You have games in most every genre. The third party losses this season do not even have a major impact on them. Basically they still have a few games in each major genre, and have a eclectic mix. |
This, folks. This.

Imagine Halo 3 ODST and Halo Reach in the same year. LOL

Halo is being released in Septemeber.
I'm thinking its to avoid MW2 and to get in the sales before people go with CoD and decide to hold off ODST for a while or permanently.
MW2 is having an effect on even the mighty Halo.

So hard to call there... People were calling for KZ2 to destroy Halo Wars, with only the word "Halo" in the title selling any copies of the title in the first place... A marginally related spin off to the Great Cthulhu of video games has pretty much run neck and neck with the competitors biggest offering thus far, even chewing in to lead KZ2 had at launch. That said, Halo Wars succeeded as much on its own merits as a fantastic console RTS, and Halo: ODST will have to do the same. Tough call against something as proven as CoD, whereas KZ2 had a far less impressive pedigree going into that fight.

Halo was originally an RTS so Halo wars was just going back to its roots.
It could be because this holiday seems to be the most packed ever so getting your game out there first while people still have money could be just good business sense

Halo 3 ODST will absolutely eat the 360 version of MW2 alive. I will buy 10 PS3's if MW2 360 version is even close to Halo 3 ODST's opening sales.
MW2 will sell well on PS3 and PC because there is little else as big as Halo on those systems. But just the sheer number of online Halo 3 players ( 3 million ) will be purchasing ODST in the first week for all the extra content.
I can't believe you guys think ODST is scared of MW2 LOL.
