I agree. There are maybe 10 FPS or more on PC which are better than Halo.
MS just used massive marketing, and it worked...
For your information, I'm sure Halo 2 got a bad review for the PC version because that port was horrible. You need Vista to play? Really? Oh, and I can't configure my keyboard controls in the options for no apparent reason?
Geez, don't compare ports to the original game made by the original developers. That's just unfair.
Halo was built for the consoles, and it should have stayed this way, always. Though, I must say I liked the online for the PC version of Halo... but that's about it really.
Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

I don't think the majority of PC gamers and PC game reviewers share his opinion on this. If anything, the major discrepancies between the X-box and PC versions of Halo 1 and 2 in scores should be a hint at this. http://www.metacritic.com/search/process?sb=0&tfs=all&ts=halo+&ty=0&x=0&y=0 I know Metacritic is not the say all end all either but it does show the numbers. |
It came out two years later after a rapid release of several excellent and genre defining shooters. It was simply a little dated by the time it was released.
Lets see: Port issues -> Framerates, controls etc and PC gamer backlash against consoles. (Since then I bet the majority of FPS games in the west are played on consoles, at least the paying customers anyway) and im repeating myself the fact that two years on many games took lessons from Halo, Half-Life etc and the genre moved on. It was two years old, the story would have been different if it was released at the same time.
Tease.
Squilliam; play Deus Ex, seriously! Its like nothing else ever made!
I even liked the sequel... but that's generally frowned upon!

Yeah, I remember when Halo Combat Evolved was advertised a lot on the radio, TV {There was only like one TV spot}, bill boards, and soda cans. *rolls eyes*
There are a few PC shooter that rival Halo in SP which are:

Well it still rated well, plus the PC version had horrible frame rate issues, didn't have co-op, and the mechanics just didn't seem right for the PC. Halo should remain on the consoles because that's what it was built for.

Deus Ex Invisible War was alright but it wasn't a worthy sequel to it's predesscor, it's still better than the majority of crap out there.

Yeah, Invisible War is a good game in its own right but it has huge shoes to fill. Not fair for any developer to try to top the first one.
"Here, why don't you make a sequel to The Shawshank Redemption!" Pressure...
