Forums - Sales - Halo 3 ODST vs Gran Turismo 5

ODST definitely get opening week. Here in the U.S., tons of dudes would be sleeping outside gamestop before it launches. As for GT5, I don't know what to expect, this is the first gen that PS isn't popular especially in the U.S.

It'll probably best ODST in EU though.

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

Last I checked, GT5 was not going to come this year. Gamestop has it listed for February 2010

1) GameStop dates are placeholder dates

2) It was recently changed to November 2009, according to makingmusic, but like I said, that's irrelevant.

3) GT PSP is launching this year. It will have connectivity with GT5.

4) Yamauchi said "We can release it whenever we like"

5) Forza 3 is launching this year.

ok so its in th guiness world book or records, i'm sure Halo  in in there too.  But yeah GT will probably sell 7 million. the chances of it outselling Halo 3 are very very low.

Actually more then anything things point to it selling more.

GT is launching on a bigger user base then H3 did.

Racing is more universal then gunning down crap, it will sales everyhere.  GT does not depend on one marlet for 70% of its sales.

That +2m lt sales in Japan will make a dif at the end of it all.

Official WRC and Nascar, no racing fans on here so no surprise you dont understand the significance.

Racing is more universal, but far, far less popular overall.

3. So why does this imply GT5 releases this year.

4. If this was true going on the assumption that GT5 will sell millions of PS3s the business would demand to release now to sell PS3s at $400 rather than after the price is reduced (assuming fall price reduction). Even if the price isnt going to reduce the sooner they move the consoles because of GT5 the sooner they have people purchasing additional software and peripherals.

5. Even better reason to be out before Forza 3 and to be hyping that now.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.
