Forums - Gaming - led tv's for gaming, opinions?

Loads of good opinions guys, so it seems that there's still a divide, if you can call it that, between plasma and lcd users, i think personally myself i prefer the bright vibrant colours of lcd more than the natural pallette of plasma but that panasonic plasma recomended to me earlier sounds lovely, as much as 200hz sounds appealing even just 100hz leaves me feeling a bit queasy when watching sonething in motion so i suppose i've got a lot to consider. What does everyone think to the tv i stated in my op, sadly my browser (google chrome) won't let me post links for some reason??

nintendo and sega fan since i was old enough to hold a game controller.

note: my games collection on my profile is only 20ish% complete, i've got a boatload of 360,saturn and dreamcast games to add and a few ps3 games, thanks :)

I think this will always be the case tbh, it's like most things in life, some will prefer one over the other, like 360 vs ps3 for example, but I 100% prefer LCD tv's (reasons why in my last reply).

Here is a link to the TV you are interested in blink182, looks stunning! - http://www.televisions.com/Reviews__Previews/Samsung_UE_46_B_7000.php

Well, I use google chrome and don't have problem with posting sites. Well, the TV in the OP is a good choice of led tvs, really well quoted by the review site I posted. I stay with plasma because of natural pallette, price, black-levels, response time and motion resolution of true 1080p. I want to get a 32 inch full hd lcd to use as monitor for my gaming PC. And for you that is going to use to play the input lag is almost no existable. But the best tip i can give you is, get YOURS equipament and go to the store and ask to test in the TVs in an ambient that have near the same condition you'll have in your home and see what is best for you. I stay with plasma Panasonic G10 anyway because of 600hz sub-field that give us 1080p motion resolution.

FKNetwork, what's your LCD model by the way?

despite coming from a LCD tv website, this is a fairly good explanation of the advantages of each

http://www.lcdtvbuyingguide.com/lcdtv-plasmavslcd.shtml

One important factor to consider when buying a Plasma it to make sure it is actually the resolution you want. I was poking around some plasmas and they have a 42" tv with a native resolution of 1024 x 768 which isn't even 720p. So just be careful to make sure you know what you are buying. Again, as I say everywhere else when it comes to electronics, you really need to go and look at the TV before buying it to see if you are happy with the picture. If you can watch side by side from the same source, then that is the best, and then buy the one you think looks the best and is within your price range.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Better PQ than LCD minus the viewing angle, but most have glossy screens (reflections) and 120Hz is just plain annoying.

Mine is 52" (LCD 1080P) but wouldn't want any bigger tbh unless i had a big room, I love it although it does feel smaller once you get used to it, same with any size tv you buy and use for a while.

I wish OLED technology was cheaper and supported larger screens.. that would be the best technology to have in TVs.

this.

What is your model exactly? How much did you pay for it?
