That's way more Mario related titles than I thought existed, and I knew of quite a few already.

It took me like 15 minutes to read through that one at a time. Damn.

LOL yeah that was one of a couple things that bugged me about the "tree" cuz I thought that Yoshi's Island should be part of the direct line of Mario games, I mean it's not like "Yoshi" on NES was the first Yoshi game, it was a spin-off!

Edit: Nvm, I see that the timeline connecting all the Yoshi games goes back to SMW, which is true since it also spawned all the other NES and SNES games that used its graphics, themes and sprites like Mario Paint, Mario's Missing, Mario's Time Machine etc, so yeah disregard what I originally said lol.

The other thing that bugged me was the fact that they stuck Mario RPG way off to the side and lumped it in with all the random Mario games like the "educational" titles, but then they failed to connect it with it's proper lineage like Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi RPG games.

Its cools seeing all those games in one image, but as a family tree its a fail; its not internally consistent - sometimes sequels are siblings while other times one of them parents the next; sometimes a change in the underlying technology seems to make a game a child, while other times games spanning multiple generations are siblings.

There are so many faults with this.
-New Super Mario Bros should come out of Super Mario Bros 2
-Mario and Luigi and Paper Mario should come from Super Mario RPG
-Titles not published by Nintendo should not be on the list
