Forums - Gaming - My Answer: Holy Crack Ubisoft... (PoP & AC1 Related)

Well, I loved both games! Prince of Persia moreso than AC1, but they both were loved.

Not sure why I liked them so much but I did.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,

I know what you mean, i had the same surprise that you got too when i first bought Prince of Persia last year...

I bought the game on a whim thinking that it would be something different, never played it for a few months as i had Resistance 2 etc to keep me busy but when i got into it i could not stop playing. Great game! Love how the Prince is voiced by the guy that has done and it still doing the voice for Nathan Drake (Uncharted 1 & 2)

Errr there wasn't a single mention of GAMEPLAY in the OP's post.

It was

1. Looks nice
2. Looks nice
3. Looks bad ass

I haven't played PoP on the current gen, but I don't think that it diverged from the SoT trilogy in a good way (no time mechanics, no dying if you fall, etc). Assassin's Creed was such a huge dissapointment, sorta like Fry Cry 2. When you see the scripted gameplay, and the developer's description of a really open world and complex gameplay, it seems awesome on paper. When you actually play it, it absolutely falls flat. They were constantly saying "Prince of Persia team" and the reviewers were overhyping the game, saying "It's like PoP in the crusades era".

But PoP was a platformer, where you have to make the job and cordinate and use skill. In Assassin's Creed, you literally hold 1 button and just run and Altair does everything for you.

The combat consisted of just timing counters over and over and over, and you could take on armies even if you only played for a few days.

Social stealth was such a dissapointment. I could fucking climb walls and do as much crazy stuff I wanted, as long as I didn't kill anyone in plain sight. If the thing was on high alert (red) it was pretty much stay away from the guards, or you could even just press blend and slowly walk past their noses.

What I was expecting was if you stand out in the open, than the crowd then you'll be spotted. If you do crazy shit like climbing things, guards will stop you or follow you, not just some roof guards on predetermined areas telling you to get off.

Whatever I'm rambling now.

True, i guess i'll explain that bit here then lol sorry.

I was just so freaked out by how nice eveything looked and its not even a JRPG i was rather dumbfounded is all lulz.

AC1's Gameplay reminded me of a Watered down inFamous WITHOUT the cool powers while adding mounts such as horses aswell as batman like tools. it was fun, but not the best i've played this gen for an Action Styled game.

Prince of Perisa however im finding it to be VERY charming, not only do you have a badass gauntlet and a magical side kick, but the combos look REALLY nice and style-ish, for examle i can almost compare the combat to Advent-Children final fantasy or the Matrix, really hot stuff.

@Kantor- True, but the prince VS drake, drake would get owned lulz.

And yeah, lulz i x5 posted in that other thread by mistake. -_- DUNT LOOK @ IT!!!1

Drake has a pair of fucking grenade launcher nice buns.

/argument.

Fixed for ya :)

/thread

Of course, his buns would kill the Prince before he got near grenade launcher range.

The new prince is one of my fave new characters this gen.

A few of my faves would be Cole from inFamous, Keats from Folklore, Mao and Almaz from Disgaea3, and I have a feelling I'll love Nathan when I pick up Uncharted 1 and 2.

Wow Dgc i agree 100%.
