Wait, is this pro or anti Mac, cause those "other" costs are going up, while the processor costs went down.




If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

The third column is the price of the computer minus the cost of the processors, which reveals Apple has jacked up the price of the base octocore configuration 1300$. 

So either that fancy cheese-grater case has become absurdly expensive or they are just shaking down the Pro's customers.

your title made me think this was a pro Mac thread, but the numbers said the oposite, which is why I was confused.

Speaking as a recovering Mac-zealot, this comes as no surprise to me. I love the Mac OS (including OSX), but I can't stand Apple.



Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.
