Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Can Super Mario Galaxy live up to the hype?

Yes it will. And it will top Halo 3's ratings and sales.

But expect Gamespot's review's to be like this: "It's the best game ever, it's amazing and all... but it's on the Wii and it's a sequel on the Wii... so 7"

Everybody else will be 10.

If anyone can find a negative preview for this game I'll give them 1.5 million dollars.

Not negative by any means, but I have only read one preview which addressed two concerns

1) It was too easy-

Though he has heard of, but not played, the very hard secret levels of the demo.

2) Planets sizes-

Maybe he hasn't heard that there are planets 10 times the size of the average planet.

I believe it is from Variety.

This game will be big. It will sell well everywhere, and surely out sell Halo in Japan.

I am Daemon. I am the Word.

Miyamato has definetly stepped up the difficulty. Especially the life bar.

I only wonder what 1UP's review will be.

This has to be the first time I know a game is my GOTY - and I haven't even played it (or seen it in real life action).

This will do for the Wii what NSMB did on the DS - only more so.

The only question is how much more.

1up has already said: "Tired retread of the Mario series. It appears Nintendo has run out of new ideas."

I made that 1up qoute up.

If Nintendo wants to sell out of every Wii this Christmas they should sell the Wii with a Galaxy pack-in.

Yes...if it's long enough. It needs to be as long as Super Mario 64 at least...I must be one of the only people who didn't like NSMB because it was REALLY short.

And being able to go back and get all the little collectibles is one thing...I want a lot of actual levels to go through. SM64 had plenty of levels, and plenty of unique things to do in each level. Sunshine had that too...though I feel it had less. SMG needs to have a lot of content...the more the better I say.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

I prefer hidden levels myself. Playing the game and just when you thought you found everything, you discover a whole other area. That's why I don't like strategy guides. They tell you everything too soon. Sometimes they come out before the game does. Maybe release the strategy guide a month into the game.
