military schools do give subjects like General Math Physics etc IRL FYI.

I decided to do a quick comparative between the original game and the PSP pics.

I know it isn't about graphics and it's a fact that Ill get this one day one, but I think it deserves another chance in consoles. Hope that Valkyria 3 is on the works

Something that should be noted... it could be before the cell shading effect is put in too... reminds me of No More Heroes.

Don't forget you will be watching this on 4" screen instead of something like 30-50" big LCD. This looks mighty awesome for PSP game and honestly i expected much worse degradation of graphics.

I read something from here:

http://rpgfan.com/news/2009/361.html

recently that made me wonder if this game will have some school type activities as well, or if that's just part of the story.

"The game's concept is to contrast the normal daily life at the school with the abnormal world of war."

Almost sounds like a Persona type concept, but that seems out of place for the setting.

Hmm, well if you watched some anime, school/war seems to juggle just fine (like Full Metal Panic). Stuff like that sounds normal IMO.

And Neon Genesis: Evangelion.

And Chrome Shelled Regios, Toshokan Sensou, Code Geass, and Macross Frontier.

I mean really Soriku

"if you watched some anime"

Well golly I'ma have to go check out this anime you mentioned and see if it's for me.

And I don't really think a single one of these apply.  Evangelion they were fighting an enemy that came in spurts by design.  During down times they couldn't attack them back.  FMP was about a guy doing missions outside of his country, not a damned civil war.  Macross Frontier the war was not in their area and the fight was for survival, Code Geass he was hiding as a terrorist, Toshokan Sensou it was two government orginizations in the some country fighting each other, and finally in Regios the wars were against a bug race for survival that was ever present and you can't really end a war like that.

but if your entire class is sent to the front line you can't really show up to school each day. That makes little to no sense, you can't stop manning the trenches because you have algebra homework.

Why would they have algebra lessons on a military school?

First of all, to clear some things. Is it a school or a military academy? If its the latter then the theory they would probably learn are war strategies (I see here the possibility of implementing these in battle) and applied mathematics/physics , i.e. ballistic. If its a military school (with  adolescents only) like Persona then that´s dumb.

You do realize alot of the things in the military require a good knowledge of algebra, right?

Logistics and such as well.

Haven't they learned that in High School? In University you learn Maths and Physics the first year that's it. The rest is applied Maths and specialized courses.

So it's actually an academy and the main protagonist is 17 years old, so he'll definitely have general Maths and Physics to attend to. I hope the game spans throughout the whole studies timeframe, that way you may be able to choose what courses you want in the later years.

Even our own military knows how badly some people forget things, so an algebra refreshment is mandatory when you try and go up in rank, whatever field you are in. And yes, I believe you can learn algebra in colleges (ROTC) and military academies as well.
