Campbell has committed himself to staying at Notts' county for 5 years so when he will leave he will be 39. He is a fast player but I think that by playing him at league two they are hoping that the slower pace will mean his career can last longer.

Notts'county are going to destroy teams this season, they've already signed Sol Campbell, Kasper Schmiechel, Delroy Facey and Jamie Clapham, four players that are better than league two.

Furthermore, to top that off rumours are around that they could be asking Luis Figo to come out of retirement, they could be taking on Pavel Nedved too and they are going to offer a contract to Patrick Viera... They said money is not an issue in getting them to the premiership, so essentially they can pay any transfer fee and any wage... Expect to see Notts' county in the premier league in four seasons.

Yeah I read about the fact that they were the oldest club in the world, but I think they saw that and thought that a club with such stature and history deserves to be in a better position than they are now.
