Liverpool sign Joe Cole

I still don't think they'll regain a top 4 position this year. ManU Chelsea Arsenal and Man city have better squads.

Get fucking in there! I agree with you. But top 6 looks like a real achievable goal. Much better squad than Aston Villa and Everton.

If Tottenham burst under the burden of Champions league/league football (and lets be honest, it's tottenham, you expect this to happen) and city still don't have a clue what they are doing, you could nick 4th.
But you'll need a fit Torres and Gerrard.
Anyway, what is the general expectation of Liverpool fans for next season?

4th place...Title. It HAS to be the expectation for a club that has won it 18 times previous. 2 years ago with a fully fit squad Liverpool came second which to some people was a suprise other not so. Last year pretty much every player was injured at some point for considerable time and that ultimately cost Liverpool slumping to a disasterous 6th place. We can't match the spending opwer of Tottenham or ManCity, therefore we have to rely on free transfers like this "mega deal" to bring in the England international. I hope for 4th place. Realistically it is going to be between 6th and 3rd. I see Chelsea and ManU to be to strong and Liverpool in the same boat as ManCity Arsenal and Tottenham. I say Arsenal because they might lose 1 or 2 players and there luck has to run out eventually....i hope.

torres or gerrard might be off,
hopefully fabregas too,
city could win the league, its hard to see them not being top 4,next year
its going to be tough at the top of the premier league this year, the top 8 are good teams and big clubs
