the game wasn't so good, but in a final it's usually like this, you can't expect much. Robben missed one huge chance that was unbelievable, you can say that Casillas saved it, but someone like Romario certainly wouldn't miss it. I've seen some journalists saying that Spain's victory was good for football, but I don't think the clubs will dramatically change their style, you cannot impose a passing game on teams that lack quality.

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

This just in: Diego Forlan was voted the best player of the tournament. Hm...do you agree?

It will be interesting to see how the Dutch media see this final and especially if they say that the country can be proud of this team.

They'll probably highlight their team fought well to the end (quite literally).

And Roben's run. No one is talking about that anywhere. Am I the crazy one here?

I don't think so, but as I'm not Dutch I can't really predict. I have a feeling that the local media will tear the team apart for their approach and tactics in this final (Cruyff will do, but he's not media, he's just the loved/hated Dutch football god), but I'm not sure. We will see tomorrow.

Summary what I saw:   'we are an country of 17 million people and we are number 2 on the WC, that is something to be proud of' Bad referee Spain deserved it...And the three who were talking in the aftershow and said this were almost crying'...

Newspapers will be interesting....I wonder how the 100.000 fans in the cities react to this, calm night? Will their be fights? Must not be easy to be Spanish in NL I guess..

Totally agree.

He practically carried Uruguay to the Semi's and was the joint top scorer of the tournament. Had a great WC.

If you put it this way, I have to agree. I still think Iniesta was overall the best and most important player, but I agree that Forlan is a good choice as well.

Thomas Müller was voted the best young player and I can certainly agree with that, either.

thomas mueller was bay far the best player

but this final was so bad, so many fouls

would have spain won , if the dutch got there corner right before the goal ? no one knows :D

My point exactly. I say Spain were the best side but the way they won was unfair from such as shit decision not to give a corner.
