I think some of you will be surprised how quickly Italy and France will be back as contenders for international titles.

One more thing about the final:
I'm glad that it was Iniesta who decided this game, one of the world's best players and probably the very best overall at this World Cup.

First tier (these will collect the gold medal in coming decades):
Spain
Brazil
Germany
Italy
France
Argentina

Second tier (these can upset from time to time but never win the WC):
Holland
Portugal
England

Pff so much can change in a few years see Italy and France..  So long it is an EU team I am happy ^_^

^ Based on just one World Cup lol...

Italy and France keeps producing new talent. And they always have the confidence to win.

Spain never had a good cup before for that matter :P

And yeah, I wouldn't take italy to tier B, but France is harder, I think it's somewhere in between.

italy and France arent producing youth at the minute, thats the point....  particularly france.

see the recent under 21 tournament.

France is a giant. They will produce. It's four years til the next World Cup.

I think it is more likely for Italy to produce good players in the coming years than France, but that's my opinion of course.

Result wise not, but everyone knew their incredible potentional. Before every World Cup in the last two decades experts have said "now is the time of Spain".

Yeah, Italy is even more huge than France. Italy is only surpassed by Spain and Brazil in the football world.

Plus, people seem to forget that it was mainly the old French players who caused the ridiculous scandal. I bet there's already enough young talent available to replace these old, selfish idiots who will never wear an Equipe Tricolor jersey again.

Whoo Spain won! This is the first time I am not present for a Spanish major victory/Barcelona, and I have to say it sucks knowing what I am missing.

It will be interesting to see how the Dutch media see this final and especially if they say that the country can be proud of this team.
