The french can't sleep because of the vuvuzela's, but more interesting is the bolded part. Danny Jordaan is thinking about banning the vuvuzela's in the stadiums.

Please, please, please.

Yea, I don't think it's fair on the teams, especially goalkeepers.

Goalkeepers are in for a nightmare this tournament imo - Feather football and Vuvuzelas hardly help concentration. Don't think Rob Green will be alone.

I don't understand why people are talking about the USA as if there a terrible team. England should have won, but it's not like USA haven't beaten big teams before it was hat long ago they beat Spain. I think most of the players played well. I'm a bit worried about Carragher, he looked a bit out of his depth.

Yeah, was on a flight last night so missed the game..

Just finished watching it.  No problems really, dodgy goalkeeping moment and rooney playing quite badly aside I thought we did ok.

Heskey and Gerrard were superb I thought.  we will qualify easily.

If the US had actually trued to play in the second half rathert than just sit back then we would have nicked as few goals.

Usual hysteria when we dont smash 3 or 4 goals from the press and people who only watch football once every 4 years....  we will be fine.  The US will bore their way through too.

What were you watching? The USA are a team of journeymen and England resorted to lumping the ball up to Heskey/Crouch for the entire match. Why aren't you depressed by that? Other than assisting the goal Heskey created sweet fuck all. He gave the ball away as much as he won it, against very average defenders. All that's expected of him is the odd knock down and he just about did that acceptably, but missed an absolute sitter at 1-1.

I was very surprised England played that badly, they're an immensely talented team. Rooney didn't play badly, he got no service as your disfunctional Gerrard-Lampard midfield were unsurprisingly rubbish and were bypassed by the long ball. The USA tried to play more than England when they had the ball and actually attempted to string a couple of passes together but were let down by a general lack of talent.

The only thing you said that I do agree with is that you will qualify easily, and probably in first place

What team has shown their immense talent so far? Argentina looked alright but Nigeria had opportunities, France looked mediocre, Mexico stunk, etc, etc. The players haven't been together for long and will gradually improve.

Heskey was involved with basically everything in the USA's half, he just needs to be clinical and watch the offside. I'd rather have Crouch up there, he scores in internationals.

The USA aren't an average team either, they are in the top 15 in the World. If it wasn't for a howler and missed chances, England would have comfortably beat a top 15 team by around 3 goals to nil.

And for reference, England drew 0-0 with Uruguay in their first game in the year they won it.

So if it wasn't for poor English play they would have won the game comfortably? That must be very encouraging.

Heskey was involved with everything because the ball was passed long to him at every opportunity, but how many times did he miscontrol, get tackled or give the ball away? Lots, that's how many.He did nothing of value after the goal.

No team has looked immensely talented so far, but only two of the big boys, Argentina and England, have played, and Argentina looked more impressive. You could say all the other teams haven't been together long and will improve too, so that's irrelevant.

Look at the players in the USA team and tell me they aren't average. Look at who Heskey was up against, a Milan (Onyewu) reserve and a Watford reject (deMerit). In fact, they're ranked 14th and they're in a 32 team tournament (although 2 of the teams ahead of them didn't make it to the world cup) what isn't average about that? Anyway,as we all know, FIFA rankings are bullshit.

I agree that the FIFA rankings are not a good indicator of a team's strenght, but the USA is one of the best "2nd class" teams in the world.

Looks like I was right about goalkeeper blunders lol

I'd say they're around 3rd to 5th best of the second tier teams in the Cup, after France and Portugal, and maybe Chile and Denmark. So yeah, they're a decent team but shouldn't be in the same class as England.

Nearly every game in this world cup has been BOOORING! I can't wait to get back to club football.

Slovenia won. Unexpected result.

What game did you watch? England played very well. Every team has poor moments and passing in every match. Brazil, France, Italy lose the ball numerous times a match due to pathetic passing.

It just matters how many chances are created. It's this pathetic downing of England all the time that is so dire IMO.

England created alot of chances that were good. On a another night England would have had 3 or 4 goals with these chances. It's been awhile since England have played good passing along the 'GROUND' all match. Hesky played well. I was impressed with him. I thought we defended open play well, but were lacks on set pieces. Unusual for England.

It was by no strecth of the imagination a poor performance. And to right USA off ( they beat the full Italy and Brazil teams in the last year ) is pathetic.

England looked good. Unlucky IMO. People need to stop being pundits and be realistic.
