Bit harsh....

Bayern are a good side, sure they caught ManU on a off day but they still deserved to win. It reminds me of the Porto situation a few years ago, many "bigger teams" failed in the competition and allowed a "smaller" team to break through.

A terrible game from two terrible teams. United fans must be slitting their wrists after watching the muck that beat them, and the muck they'd have strolled past to get into the finals.
Early days and all, but it looks like an Italian team to win the Champo's league. Who'd a guessed it?

Lyon is not Italian ;)

Time to Work !

^
i think he meant inter
if bayern plays vs inter in the finals, bayern will win
if it is barca vs bayern, bayern will loose because their defense is weak

Okay, they may not be a terrible team but I don't see how anyone could say Bayern are in the same class as Inter after what's happened in this competition so far. Bayern just about got through against a very poor Fiorentina side and a relatively poor United. They got a 1-0 home win against a truly shocking Lyon, only after a dodgy red evened things up for them.

Inter have out-thought and outplayed Chelsea and, so far, Barca, as well as making light work of CSKA. They're in a different class.

Also, who in the fuck is that Muller guy? I've never seen an individual performance so bad at this stage in Europe. Truly awful.

Bayern played quite well against Inter in the last few years.

Inter may have a better team this year, but so does Bayern.

The ARE in the same class.

You failed to mention that Bayern destroyed Juventus in the group stage, before they had their current losing streak.

and I totally agree with ProdigyBam.

If Bayern and Inter make it to the finals. I see at least a 50-50 chance.

Barca would rip Bayern apart.

I just can't get my head around that, after Inter put in the best performance of the knockout stages on Tuesday and Bayern played so badly. Inter just look so much more dangerous going forward. I suppose you could argue, maybe, that they don't have the individual brilliance of Robben and Ribery, but it's absolute, inarguable Science Fact that they're the far, far better team in defence.

They did crucify Juve (who are rubbish), once. I also "failed to mention" that they drew with Juve in their other tie and lost to Bordeaux (also rubbish) twice. Bayern were fair to crap in the group stages for five out of their six games and they had a fairly easy group. That said, Inter were pretty poor in the groups stage too.

Bayern was far from playing badly. Inter would've never scored 3 goals against Barca, if Barca played like Lyon yesterday. Lyon tried to attack for about 15-20 minutes in the whole game (mostly due to corners and free kicks). The rest of the time even their strikers did nothing but defend a 0-0 (or the 0-1 later on).

Bayern had some good chances and their only fault was to not score one or maybe even two goals more. Anything else was good.

But it seems like "bad" is a VERY loose term here in this thread (especially looking at you kowenicki). Every team that doesn't play football on world class niveau is automatically bad.

Very sad that some people cannot enjoy a normal football match.

Well when I say bad I mean bad compared to other champions league semi finals. I support a team who's star striker, who was the top scorer in the league last year, is payed around £900 a week. The football is still enjoyable as they're a good team relative to the other teams in the league. Some of the play last night was shocking, I mean truly dreadful. There were five yard passes going out of play, Bayern missed about five sitters, Lyon were deplorable all round. Relative to the other teams in the champions league that was "bad" football.

Lyon did defend the entire match, but they defended very poorly, gifting Bayern space to create numerous easy chances, only one of which they could put away. I can enjoy a normal football match. Luckily, given last night's game, I can also enjoy a poor one.

Liverpool game was dire at best.

Will be favourites to progress after that.

I watched the Fulham game, it was pretty disappointing. Hamburg isn't that great, but Fulham barely tried to attack.

and I didn't watch Man. Utd. x Tottenham today, but all the recent losses had penalties: THREE vs Sunderland, one Portsmouth and two today. that's too much!

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!
