Looks like Man City have signed Kolo Toure from Arsenal, for £15m.

Arsenal must be laughing. They have got £40m in total from Man City for 2 fairly good but not brilliant players.

theyve only spent £10m so far, on an average player, lol, they need to sign more players in, they looked vunerable last season, only got 4th because Villa and Everton werent quite good enough to stop them, theyre gonna struggle to stay in the Top 4 if there not careful, look at the other teams like Everton, Tottenham and Man City, theyve signed to improve and could challenge for 4th, Arsenal need to spend some of that £40m imo, at the moment theyre looking weak imo.

They can't sign more players.

They're already up to their ears in debt from taking out way too many loans and already charges its fans more then anyone else.

I heard their debt something like 107% the value of their assets?

Estimates of the debt varies.. it's the one tragic yet interesting thing about the sport though.  Due to the lack of salary caps which would be untenable since it's such a worldwide game... you have to borrow like mad to be a top team.  Which means you have to win to pay back your debts, which means you have to spend more etc....

Till it gets to the point of where if your a major team you NEED to do well in the champions league just to break even.

If Arsenal doesn't make the champions league one year... it's screwed... and even if they do... they may be in trouble.

As things go forward it will prove interesting not only for them, but for the sport as a whole.

I know. It's what happened to Leeds United. They borrowed a lot of money to attempt to reach the Champions league and when they didn't make it they found that they had enormous debts and no money to pay them off with. That's why they got relegated twice. If Arsenal don't make the champions league two or three seasons in a row then they are going to be in big trouble.

I thought Arsenal were like the 6th richest club in the world... behind Man Utd, Real Madrid and a few North American teams.

Carlo Cudicini was involved in a motorbike crash... possible life changing injuries...

Get well soon Carlo.

Hes fractured both wrists, should be fine.

They are rich, but they also have massive debts, more than their assets apparently... If that makes sense Mr Pilkinton lol.
