Forums - Nintendo - wii fit will pass sales of the pstriple in febuary of '010

im willing to bet somebody that this will happen. wii fit has been outselling the triple week to week for a long time now, and the inevidable will occur. the only question is when?

there are a lot of variables to take into account, and one of the most important, i think is this holiday season. the biggest factor is the price cut. if the triple sees 100 dollar price cut, then i am most likely going to be wrong. if its 50, then i think we are just going to have to wait and see.

there is also wii fit plus, and that could either help or take away the sales of wii fit. wii fit could also possibly see a price cut.

taking all this into account, and averaging the monthly sales of both, i believe it is going to be feburary of oh ten and i also think it will happen when both are in the 25 millions.

Wii Fit Plus would take away sales from the original

Do we have any indication of whether or not WF+ will even be sold with the balance board? If it's just a separate disc....

It's not the software surpassing PS3 that it is interesting, it's the hardware! If/when will the balance board have a larger install base than PS3? Of course Wii Fit+ will eat into wii fit's sales, but since WF+ is also bundled with the balance board, this could be very interesting.

yea i definately think that if it doesnt come with a balance board, it could make the sales of wii fit go up. unless they sell one seperately.

there is an option of getting the disc only, but the general package comes with the balance board

Things for Sony are really bad when a simple periphal sella more than their system.

¿Wiifit plus is compatible with WM+?

Even if it is bundled with the balance board, balance board sales would see a bump, and isn't it more significant that the hardware has a larger install base than PS3, even if the software slows.

Now what will be really funny is if Nintendo launches more software in support of the balance board and we see a higher attach rate then the PS3 has. We already know that in order to get a WiiBalance Board you have to buy 1 game (WiiFit) and chances are most if not all WiiFit owners are going to buy WiiFitPlus (Only 29.99$ who wouldn't) so that makes an attach rate of two titles per balance board, then we have the Rayman Raving Rabbids title and the Skiing game from EA and the ShaunWhite snowboarding.

In the end WiiBalance board might beat out the PS3 not only in hardware sales but software sales as well. Its all in Nintendo's hands if they show the hardware love and give it more software it could very well beat out PS3 altogether!

I want to add, that the games Vertigo, Marbles Balance Challenge (Kororinpa 2), Wii Music, Family Ski, Family Ski and Snowboard, EA Sports Active, My Fitness Coach: Cardio Workout, Punch-Out and some more also support the Balance Board.
