Smart decision. After seeing MAG at E3, it needs time to gestate a little more. Zipper needed to clear their heads a little and develop this game with a tighter focus, not being such a broadly ambitious FPS and being really average at it. Add to that it would have been destroyed releasing a week after MW2.

That being said, Sony is really pinning its hopes on a GT5 release this Christmas. It has to. Only U2 as a heavy hitter this holidays will be a big failure. And if that price doesn't drop, it will be carnage. 2009 holidays must be the focus, not 2010.

Moving to Q1 2010 is not a smart idea either. Some of the titles delayed until then:

Battlefield: Bad Company 2

Bioshock 2

God of War 3

Heavy Rain

The Agency

Lost Planet 2

Mafia II

MAG

Max Payne 3

Red Dead Redemption

Split/Second

 

Crowded after Christmas period thats for sure.

good thing i have a psp the amount of game coming out for it is crasy and will easily make me forgive the ps3 line up

on another note sony has to stop announcing games to early otherwise this will happen

2007 wasn't, and I don't think 2009 will be either. 2008 was though, and 2010 could be too.

Isn't it funny how the PS3's 2009 lineup looked so much better than the 360's earlier this year? Unless GT5 gets announced for Nov/Dec, I'm giving the year to the 360.

Agreed. While 07 Sony was stomped into the Ground 2008 proved to be the Year where PS3 brought most of the quality. Now It's looking like 2009 will go to the 360 and 2010 to the PS3? But 360 is also bringing out big guns next year as well. Halo:Reach and Mass Effect 2

Depending on how it is, but I plan to still be playing MW2 in Jan/Feb.

That's ok. Demon's Souls will take me around 2 months to beat anyway...and uncharted 2 3 weeks.

I say move MAG to summer 2010, and Gran Turismo 5 this christmas.
