Forums - Sales - Valkyria Chronicles on PSP wasn't a good idea?

It's a great idea, actually.

More people in Japan will be exposed to a game that SHOULD have been huge in Japan. There are people who want the game that don't have a PS3 so this gives them the opportunity to play the game. It also expands the game to an audience who normally wouldn't have it. I don't see what's with all of the bitching that's been done today. I think it's a great idea.

lol thanks.

It's just that this is the 2nd or 3rd thread that I've seen where people are pissed off/confused about the jump. Jak & Daxter jumped from PS2 to PSP. Motorstorm jumped to PSP. LBP jumped to PSP. GoW, Ratchet & Clank, SoCom, Splinter Cell, Twisted Metal, Persona, Disgaea, and Gran Turismo have all made a transition to the PSP. So why have such a hard time grasping the concept of one of the best RPG's this generation making a jump to the PSP. It's just kind of pointless to complain about it since the decision was probably made a long time ago.

Because those were all ports from different developers (or the same game, not a sequel). Or Splinter Cell.

And you forgot Syphon Filter, that one pisses me off most. Sure, it's awesome on PSP, but I want a PS3 Syphon Filter, not a bunch of PSP SF (and of course Resistance Retribution, yuck)

Just wait until next year. They are supposedly working on it *knocks on wood*

I think the PSP is more fitting for the game also because of the strong RPG support that the PSP has right now.

*Man hugs Axum "Again"*

Hmmm.....actually it aint that bad as it gives me a good reason to buy a psp GO since my psp 2000 has faulty buttons now but yeh I was hopping it would also be on ps3.

well, I'm happy because this time I can actually play it

I remember when I first heard about the original bieng PS3 exclusive, I wasn't too happy, it was probably the only time I regretted getting a 360 over the PS3

So does this mean that VC2 will be released for the PS2 later on???

I think jumping platform after only one game is stupid. Should have done a VC2 on PS3, then maybe move to other platforms.

It isn't even a spin off is it, is an actual sequal? Makes it more stupid.

Kind of a middle finger to fans completely jumping ship after only one game. Not like it went multiplat after one game, that isn't bad at all...it completly switched platforms and cuts off fanbase.

Not really it makes perfect sense to release VC 1 on PS3, then make second one on PSP and go back with third one for PS3 again this time with much higher userbase. Plus PSP is really cheap enought that buying it for single game isn't such a problem for fanatical fanbase (and VC fanbase is fanatical no doubt:) )

That sounds... extremely farfetched.

I mean... can you name on game that's followed a similar precedent?

People are going to say MH, but then again VC is story driven while MH is not.

But the PSP ones weren't sequels.  They were upgraded ports... no?

It was MH1 and MH1G

Then MH2 and MH2G

Now MH3Tri and (probably) MH3G.(PSP)

Not MH1 and MH2.

This would be more like if DQ 11 was for DS.

Which it may be... i believe Nintendo threw them a moneyhat to put it on Wii instead of DS... but Sony throwing money at them to put on PSP instead of PS3 is a ridiculious concept.

I'm guessing if it sells a half million it will make them still some steady profit, and It's cheaper to make on the PSP. Japan could put this at 400k or better alone, and the US/UK could make up for the other 100k.

It's just that simple.

I'd rather it be a full fledged PS3 game honestly, but I'll take what I can get. Like with Spirit Tracks.
