Forums - Sales - Valkyria Chronicles on PSP wasn't a good idea?

I dont understand how anyone could have been dissapointed with those sales tbh.

New IP, SRPG, PS3 Exclusive... those sales are awesome.

I just think its a way for them to try make the franchise even more well known. Then if it goes well on PSP, VC 3 will probably be a multiplat on PSP/PS3... maybe even a release title for PSP2.

You don't take risks with a sequel to something you were happy with... it'd be lunacy.

They're making a VC for PSP? Is it the original game or is it a gaiden? Etc. etc.

Well, Dawn of the New World is a complete sequel to the first game, and that's a gaiden. Who knows.

No it isn't. It's an escort gaiden, that's why it's called "ToS-R" in Japan and not ToS2.

That's not possible though.

You can't be both a gaiden and a full sequel.

Gaiden means "Side Story or Unofficial Sequel"

Couldn't it be a full sequel to the first Valkyria Chronicles and a side story in the Valkryia franchise.

No.  Besides, this isn't a sidestory.  It happens in Gallia 10 years later.

Gaiden's are considered gaidens either because it's a sidestory or because the team believes it isn't up to the previous games level of quality.

They recognise that the PSP will sell VC in Japan. So, they're pulling a Monster Hunter.

I'd have bought it if it was on the DS.

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.

Ya know what?

I dont give a damn, as a FAN of the "FRANCHISE" i dont care where the hell it goes, as long as im able to play it.

Though i admit i would have prefered the PS3, the PSP is just fine, infact, now i and many other VC fans (Outlaw ima lookin @ yew!) can enjoy it on the go!!

But now im use to VC being a PS-Franchise, so as long as its on PlayStation be it PS3, PSP or even PSN, as a fan i'll own it all baby!

More people in Japan will be exposed to a game that SHOULD have been huge in Japan. There are people who want the game that don't have a PS3 so this gives them the opportunity to play the game. It also expands the game to an audience who normally wouldn't have it. I don't see what's with all of the bitching that's been done today. I think it's a great idea.

lol thanks.

It's just that this is the 2nd or 3rd thread that I've seen where people are pissed off/confused about the jump. Jak & Daxter jumped from PS2 to PSP. Motorstorm jumped to PSP. LBP jumped to PSP. GoW, Ratchet & Clank, SoCom, Splinter Cell, Twisted Metal, Persona, Disgaea, and Gran Turismo have all made a transition to the PSP. So why have such a hard time grasping the concept of one of the best RPG's this generation making a jump to the PSP. It's just kind of pointless to complain about it since the decision was probably made a long time ago.

Because those were all ports from different developers (or the same game, not a sequel). Or Splinter Cell.

And you forgot Syphon Filter, that one pisses me off most. Sure, it's awesome on PSP, but I want a PS3 Syphon Filter, not a bunch of PSP SF (and of course Resistance Retribution, yuck)
