Forums - Gaming - Will PSP pass 100 million before it's discountinued?

65 million if PSP GO sales are mediocre

85 million if PSP GO sells really well

I think it will stop at 60-70 million. Still impressive, though.

two words: HELL NO

I think it'll get 3/4 of the way there before it's peacefully put to rest. Quite amazing for Sony's first handheld.

It's possible but highly unlikely.
It will finish with 70-80 million sales.
If big games still coming for PSP and If GO will succeed then 80-90 million.

Is this a joke? It's already well over 50 million (was 50 million as of January 31st and Sony expects to sell another 15 million this year.

I'm guessing it'll pass the GBA (81.47 million).

BTW, thesimexchange expects the psp to sell 87.38 million.

I say the PSP will sell around 80M+, possibly 90M when all is said and done.

No idea why people think PSP Go is going to kill the PSP though, they will still be selling the PSP-3000 as well.

It also has a very very strong lineup of games coming this year and next year. 60M+ is an absolute given at this point.

Well seeing that PSP Go is the ace in the hole right now, I'd say a lot depends on that. But releasing your big new thing at $250 when gaming is already showing expensive is not better... may not be the best idea. Doubt that will cause more people to go buy a PSP 3000 either. Especially with DSi and DS Lite still on the market and the brand appeal.

I think PSP will have sold well by the end of its life cycle but 100 million well is pushing it.

I wonder how well the PSP Go will sell when and if Agito XIII releases.

I also can't wait for Dissidia in the US and one day Parasite Eve 3.

The PSP will be around for quite while yet.
