I think Link should have the top spot on that list.

So no Master Chief or Crash Bandicoot but Nancy Drew is there? OK

Even if Nancy Drew wasn't on the list, I wouldn't put Crash or MC in it. Exatly how important were they as CHARACTERS? Crash was only just another Sonic impersonator and Master Chief is just an average space dude with hardly any personality and almost no dialogue.

Crash Bandicoot: Sony's mascot ( in PS1 days ) and he was the greatest platformer character after Mario

Maste Chief: Xbox's mascot, the icon on FPS games on consoles.

They added Nintendo's mascot and SEGA's mascot why not Sony's and MS's mascot?

Very simple, Crash hardly had any influence. Can you name at least 3 attributes of Crash that are still visible in this day and age and weren't done before? Honestly, Crash as a character is just a Sonic rip-off, and his games, well, Mario already did it.

And master Chief, well... for one he has only been the MS posterboy for 2 years and that is way too short. Besides that his persoanlity just hasn't been that influencial yet. We knew that console-RTS's can be strong since the N64 days and the grizzled space-marine thing has been done since Doom/Quake. And honestly, Nukem's personality is just more fleshed out and influencial then MC's.

In the world of video games, link should be high, but in the world of video game characters?

Link was in some of the most innovative games of all time, but what did he do for the game character? Link was meant to be like an avatar for the player, that's why he doesn't speak. Like a forerunner to the Miis. Al he has is that he was an avatar for the player, and maybe that has been done before I don't know. Of course he is easily recognizable, but 1st?

I LOVE ICELAND!

I have a pac-man fever!!!! xD

Nice list.... can't really argue with it. Maybe Nancy, but oh well.... samus should've been a lil bit higher though.

I knew pac-man was gonna be first place. Nice list

Sonic 7
Mario 2

for me, Sonic and Mario would be 1 and 2 from there top 10.

Meh I disagree.  Except it is an platform character, Sonic and Crash are totally different.

Crash was one of the first 3D PLATFORMERS, got better sales than Sonic, better reviews than Sonic, so...

^doesnt really matter, Crash sold more and thats the fact, its also more popular than Sonic and got better reviews

But... good old sonic > Crash.

And I don't really think Crash is more popular than Sonic.

And of course, is not more influential than Sonic
