Texture filtering (like Squill said). To mostly add lighting. Which means it's nothing special, it's a very common effect.

Move on people. nothing else to see here.

Uncharted 2 does look great though.

No, it's more than that. They've re-worked some texture from scratch. Case in point - the pictures behind the old man; the old man's robe on his left hand side is now vastly more detailed; and his hand. They also made some other changes to the models, and vastly improved the lighting. (Although it has to be noted that the cutscenes will have better lighting effects than gameplay.)

To really see the massive difference in the two builds, open both these images in new tabs, and flick between them:

Trailers looks a lot like a summer blockbuster movie...I'm guessing the game will be as dynamic and explosive as the movie Transformers Revenge of the fallen. Can't wait!

Outside of Killzone 2, it will be the best looking console game this year, IMO.

Have you opened up the two image I linked just above in new tabs? It's hard to see the leap in quality from the way I posted it in the first place. What's really shocking isn't the jump in quality - although that certainly is impressive - it's that there's only a month seperating the two builds. Usually you only see this difference in quality when comparing screenshots that are a year or more apart, or are from a game and its sequal.
