You bring up an interesting point but i'm not sure i can agree with you.  If i see NOOOOOT, i reflexively want to pronounce is as though it rhymes with a long version of hoot, which clearly isn't right.  But NOTTTTT doesn't seem right either. It's is a quandary.

Sony and Microsoft also copied the disk format. But format doesn't define gaming. It's just a format. And 3D graphics weren't copied. They were just the next step. By that logic, Sony copied HD gaming since the 360 came out before the PS3.
