Anyone who disagrees is a blind fanboy.

That's why I want Microsoft to dissapear and divide in lot's of different companies(Oh, it will happen)

Competition against Microsoft is just NOT FAIR. Once they bring Sony down, they'll start focusing on Nintendo. You just can't fight the dollar to be honest...

Microsoft doesn't focus on profit until it is significantly ahead of its competition. That is why Sony fell so easily in the gaming market. Without the Xbox 360, the PS3 would probably be thriving, even at 399.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Why is eveyone sayin 360 has a 9 million gap on PS3?  Hope you're not going by VG Chartz graph.  According to Sony the PS3 has sold 22.73 million units as of March 31, 2009.  360 has sold 30.2 million units as of the same date (Edit:  Whoops, the sales number for 360 was as of May 29th.)  That's a 7.47 difference in units sold.  Of course that was a few months ago, however it seems that VG Chartz is updating the 360's numbers as it is at 31.24 units sold.  If PS3 would have sold no more consoles then that is still only a difference of 8.5.  Of course everyone knows that's not the case.  Which leads me to a question that I hope someone will answer.

WTF IS GOING ON WITH THE VG CHARTZ GRAPH?

Just a week or so ago I saw that the 360 was at 30.87 and PS3 was at 22.87.  So logically, I thought they were updating both.  But now PS3 is at 22.45 million.  Why did they subtract 420,000 consoles sold instead of adding how many they have sold since March 31st, like they have been doing with tthe 360.  I see why people would think 360 is so far ahead if they only see these numbers.  Now maybe they subtracted instead of adding.  Which is a stupid mistake given it's simple math.  But if that is the case then PS3 would be at 23.29 million sold.  Which means the gap would be at 7.95 million.  Now that still is a growth in the gap.  But not that big considering PS3's are twice as much initially.  And definitely not this 9 million people want to shove down our throats.

Thank you captain obvious.

PS3 exclusives are making 360 exclusives look dated and this trend looks to continue. PS3 has sold more in 2.5 years then 360 did plus it plays bluray has free online gaming and doesn't get RROD.

Yes the 360 could drop it's price this year but if they really need to sell the console for less then a DS personally I think that would be embarrassing.

Some of you guys REALLY don't understand what a PS3 price cut can mean to this gen.
The PS1 and PS2 ruled their gens, thus gaining Sony a lot of fans, and a lot of these fans don't have yet the money to buy a PS3, and mot of them, yes, MOST of them,WAIT to buy it.

Or some of you guys are living in a world in which the PS2 alone didn't sell close to as much of this gen's three consoles combined?

Truth is this -> Price cut from 400$ to 300/250 is MUCH more significant than a Pricecut from 300 to 200, in regard to Sony's early fanbase and today's economy.

How many of you know pepole who say they will buy a PS3 if it is cheaper? How many of you know pepole who say they will buy a 360 if it is cheaper?

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

^ How much stupidity can you pack in one post?

If you can't collect $400 in 3 years time to buy a ps3 then you're a very very poor person...

Seriously, do you have any real numbers to back up your idiotic assumption that a lot more people want to buy a ps3 if it gets a price cut then if the xbox360 gets one?

Anyway just for your information. The wii is currently tracking 20 million consoles over the ps2 if you align the launch dates. Ps2 has been out for 9 years already, so ofcourse it has sold more... Wii has only been out for 3 years... Wii also has'nt received any bundles, price cut or colours... Wii can cut the price a lot more then the ps3 can and it will have a hell of a lot more impact then a price cut of the ps3. Ps2 also had a lot of casual gamers and they have probably switched to the wii anyways, so I'll doubt they'll buy a ps3 as it just isn't casual enough.

Well the Wii sells less and less, it could go much lower than that since Wii is mostly about 'fashion' and the PS3 could sell even more.

But I agree it's a slim probability, I wrote it by the way in my last post.

Haha, the Wii is mostly about the best games lineup a console's ever had, not about fashion

On topic: no, no turnaround...unless the PS3 drops the price. Now, by turnaround you mean a swap in marketshare, then no, but a price dropped PS3 will murk a 360

Off topic at the bolded: No...just no

This may seem very crude, but one of the things I've been doing for a while around my friends and in general will take everyday situations and slap "Haha you're poor" on it.

Example: "I just had $30, but I spent it at the store. Now I have no money". Me: "Haha you're poor"

Or, "My PC crashed so I have to use Linux now" Since Linux is free, Me: "Haha, you're poor"

LOL...I just had to respond to that one part of your post

You've got an insulting tone here. I agree, some of what he posted was a bit far-fetched but I wouldn't call it "stupid" or "idiotic". It just doesn't add up, which makes it in a sense, inaccurate. Also, there are PLENTY of people who WON'T come up with such an amount of cash like that in 3 years who aren't poor. $400 for a console is a lot of money, hell it's a lot of $ in general. Many people just won't pump that out unless it is for rent, car payments, etc etc....

Frankly, I can't blame them, despite my personal feelings towards the value of the PS3. And remember, a lot of what you posted was speculative anyway, just like him.

What was speculative? That wii can cut it's price more then sony can? Hardly...

There's a difference between making decent assumptions and far-fetched speculative things.

I just can't see how it's hard to save up 36 cents a day to get a ps3 in 3 years... Sure ps3 will get a decent hardware boost when the price drops, but it's not going to close any gaps by it...

@Bmaker: Hehe, that's mean XD
