Forums - Sales - Does anyone still believe in a major turnaround this gen?

yes still believe there will be a turn around, like I've said back when the wii 1st over took the 360, this generation is unpredictable, things may seem to be consistent and highly predictable right now, but remember people thought like this as well back when the 360 1st broke 10 Million...people may disagree and even laugh and think how silly I and preposterous this post is, but one must remember that this generation isn't over, and by the way the economy is going I think it'll be one of the longer generations we've seen to date...so plenty of time for anomalies to happen.

Really depends on how long Sony is going to keep the PS3 out. MS won't keep the 360 out for too much longer. They have an opportunity in the next couple of years release a new console and really take off much more than they ever can with the 360. So if Sony decides to not release another and go with the 10 year cycle they could simply pass them by default.

Wii pretty much has it in the bag. Even with sales down they are still outselling the competition so not too many worries. 360 and PS3 could switch spots but I doubt it.

Personally, I think people really missed what happened at E3. When they saw things like NATAL and Sony's motion controllers they really just saw them advancing technology or catching up. What they didn't see is that they are preparing for their next consoles. They aren't just showing that to help a PS3 or 360 compete with Wii. They are showing this to make a point that they are ready to move on. Next generation could be hear quicker than we all think.

I still think it can happen, microsoft can change the playing field if they decide to cut to $99, and im sure they can

very good post.

I'm sure Nintendo can cut the price a lot lower then Microsoft can...

Yeah, Ms could sell xbox360 for $25 and still make profit over all, but if you think shareholders would allow something stupid as that then you clearly need a good old lesson in Economy.

Sure, I'll believe in one.

I'm taking the wait and see approach.

When the Wii HD is announced with the same specs as PS3 then PS3 will have next gen on lockdown ;)

Do you really think Nintendo next console will be a PS3? LMAO

A PS3 with a Wiimote- big difference.

Nintendo always introduces new technology when they are launching a new console. Don't expect them to just do the same as their competitors.

If your talking about probabilities, well then, theres of course going to be a chance.

But if your talking about likelyhood, well, I believe it is extremely minute that there will be any turnaround in the placement of things.

Case in point, using a sports analogy. How difficult is it for teams to jump over other teams in terms of standing when trying to make the playoffs/world series/superbowl/world cup? Thats why most teams look for that fast start. It becomes more difficult as the season progresses when trying to change positions, especially from last place to first. How often does that happen?

Like I said, possible but not likely.

I game.  You game.  We game.

I'm a videogamer, not a fanboy, but have a special place for Nintendo.

Current Systems Owned: NSwitch/PS4/XONE/WiiU/3DS/2DS/PCGaming Rig-i7/ASUS i7 Gaming Laptop.

Previous Game Consoles:  PS3/Xbox360/Wii/DSL/Pretty much every one thats been released since the Atari 2600.

I'm not going to say it won't happen. I believe the Final Fantasies and Gran Turismo will be big on the PS3 in Japan and that they will cause more Japanese exclusives to be made for the system.
