Forums - Nintendo - IGN Wii guys thanked in the Conduit's credits. Possible bias in review?

Meh, it's understandable since IGN basically gave HVS the chance to make the game. I think it's nice to see them thank them and honestly, the guys at IGN clearly like the game since they covered it so much.

ZOMG! Gamespot is bias because the reviewer liked the game he was playing! AHHHH

yeah pretty much, i wrote this a week ago, this makes the ign review look unprofessional, and its too much of a coincidence that ign gave the conduit the highest rating....

no, some other site gave it a 9/10

Nope IGN has given the 3rd highest, worth playing has given the 2nd highest. Bigbag has given the highest, they gave it Grade S which is more than 9/10

If anything, IGN caused HVS to concentrate on things that IGN wanted making for a lower review to those critics they didn't cater too. It all balances out...

Most people who bought the game think it deserves an 80-90. Personally I'm surprised there wasn't some 100s, as some magazines seem to give those out to less worth titles...

If IGN rate it a 95, then you might be able to claim bias. It's not like they gave it the highest rating. http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=64101 has it at 9.0/10 bringing it back into the green on metacritic.

EDGE's 4/10 hasn't been put on there yet... crud.  They should but bigbag's review there so it wont fall back into Yellow.

More then the two sites that gave it a 4/10 in my book.

4/10 is just un-called for, bitbag said it was generic but they weren't criticizing, they said it was in it's own category or something, and the objectives in the game weren't common at all, some aspects were new.

I think Matt and Bozon's proximity to the game development, like giving feedback etc. could have clouded their impartiality. I also think an 86 is a little high for the title but anything below a 75 is too low IMO. Listening to the podcasts, and reading reviews from Matt and Bozon I find them extremely reliable and professional. Sometimes I don't always agree with a score they give but they almost always do a great job backing up their reviews with well thought out, accurate, and intelligent commentary.  Many of the lower reviews got details about the game completely wrong or left out important details.

The 40s are just stupid and show real bias against the Wii. Jeff Gerstmann has been involved in notorious scandals involving his reviews, and Gamepro just had to fire someone for plagiarism, so consider the source.

Go look at the games rated between 40-50 in the Metacritic rankings and then ask yourself if The Conduit is anywhere near as bad as any of those games.

The best reviews for this game IMO are from VGChartz.com, GameTrailers.com, and GameShark.com (which I normally don't read)...

i agree with what i bolded. I still think gametrailers 7.8 review is the best. Jeff's Review is backed up pretty well even if he is biased, which i don't think so.
