O.O
!!!
Can't wait for this!
I distinctly remember a fat black mechanic in one of the mech games. Was that Earthsiege stickball?
I still have mech warrior 2 somewhere, I used to play it a lot like over 10 years ago...I like mech games but there really hasn't been any good ones I've been interested in for a while.
Hopefully MW5 has lot of customization options for the mechs, if it does then it's a must get just for that for me. :)

I work for GarageGames. Which is the spiritual successor to the old mega-company Dynamix (which was owned by Sierra in the golden age of 90's PC gaming). Dynamix was the company that made the very first MechWarrior game for the PC in 1989 - the one we all know today. After the first game, Mechwarrior was given/sold/used by Activision instead of Dynamix. In turn, Dynamix build the Earthsiege series which spanned 8 unique games in 2 genres in the 1990's. If you've never tried an Earthsiege game, it's very similar to the classic MechWarriors that weren't too focused on resource aquisition, with a good bit of Terminator 'machines take over the world' lore to it. Fantastic series. Included in the series were:
GarageGames now owns the rights to the entire series, which is awesome if your a hardcore mech fan. Within GarageGames is a product/website called www.InstantAction.com - a Web-based 3d gaming platform. The platform is capable of 3-D gaming experiences in your browser, without heavy computer requirements. On the site, there are quite a few games made by former Dynamix companies, as well as Max Gaming Technologies, which makes the Lore series. Lore: Invasion was more arcade-y, and more MechAssault like. Lore: Aftermath is far more akin to a classic MechWarrior or Earthsiege shooter: Lumbering mechs with incredible, customizable loadouts doing battle in a gigantic arena or world. The game is 100% free, and you can play it at www.instantaction.com - Yes. I know I'm pitching the service, but it's just about the only place you can find a mech game with a community to it.

I can't believe GarageGames own Tribes and you haven't ported it to XBLA or Community games yet! For shame sir, for shame.

Utterly Amazing. Best graphics Ive personally ever seen in gameplay. Now wheres the tissue. ;)

They actually don't own it anymore Smith & Tinker does. Check out the itnerview off the link I posted. Basically the guys that were orignally responsible for FASA Studios bought back the rights from Microsoft for this seris and I believe Crimson Skies as well. |
Jordan Weisman: I'll kick off everything; this came about through a series of turns. After I left Microsoft some years ago, Microsoft let the properties lay idle – they hadn't really done much with them. So about two years ago, I was able to negotiate the license that gave me the opportunity to try to do something with those properties because they're all close to my heart, and I hate seeing great universes lay fallow. Of course, in the way of how the world works, as soon as I put that deal together, Smith and Tinker materialized around me in a strange confluence of events and I got swept up in doing Nanovor, which is our big release product this fall. So I wasn't able to spend a lot of time on the FASA properties as I wanted, but I spent a bunch of time thinking about what I wanted to do with them.Russ, who is a longtime fan, and I'll let him tell his story, got a hold of me. We started talking and developed a prototype project on a different subject as a kind of "get to know you," and during that process spent a lot of time talking about our shared passion for reinventing MechWarrior. We've been working on this vision for MechWarrior, of which the video is a component of our thoughts about what the game should be, for the last five months now. The goal was partially a celebration of the twenty-fifth anniversary of the property, and mostly as a way of trying to present to the public and to publishers a vision of what a next-generation MechWarrior could be, was to roll this thing out next week.

To be fair, we're releasing Tribes for 'free' as a PC game for consolation. And in other news: We've only owned Tribes for a few months. Takes time to do things, but I agree that it'd go good on XBLA.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Shadowrun series and Crimson Skies series confirmed to be made again then I hope! :) Preferably Crimson Skies the game on Xbox was a blast both online and campaign.
How our favorite systems are just like humans and sometimes have issues finding their special someone...
Xbox 360 wants to Kinect & PS3 wants to Move! Why are both systems having such relationship problems? The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.
